My nephew always gets a kick out of the Rainforest Cafe.. My kids love it too, but the food is not the best! It's not in the entertainer either, OR if it is I'll be really annoyed that I've missed it! We take ours (1 and 3) all over. Urbano in Souk al Bahar is nice, good kids food, and if you time it right on the weekend the fountains strike up (or at least they used to go off on the weekend in the day) Go West in JBH is quite popular. I've always liked it there, and the kids go up and dance etc. Not sure about the entertainer on that one. Tribes - good idea. Apres in MOE, my kids love watching the skiing and it's in the entertainer. And the kids menu is reasonable. But be warned, they don't have highchairs!. (Though I doubt a 3yr old will need a highchair). But kids are welcome most places, so if you fancy going somewhere chances are the kids will be fine.

I have a 3 year old and we really enjoy going to Tribes at Moe - especially when someone is celebrating an occasion and they do their traditional drumming and singing! PF Changs is also excellent! Most chain-style restaurants usually have paper and crayons that they bring to the table which is great! Rain forest cafe was too dark and the animals too creepy!

The Macaroni place (sorry cant think of the name) in Dubai Mall up behind the Aquarium is a hit with us. Its in the entertainer the food is great and if you can get there when its not too busy there are tables right at the front which have floor to ceiling views of the aquarium. Keeps our DD entertained for hours!!!! Macaroni Grill...

The lakes club is fun for kids, and is licensed, however the food is a bit hit and miss

I can recommend Beachcombers at Jumeira Beach Hotel (they do malaysian food, focus on seafood) and Kaleidoscope at Atlantis. Both are in the Entertainer and both are child-friendly. I have heard good things about the Market Cafe brunch at Grand Hyatt, and its supposed to be a lot of fun for the kids. There is one coupon for Friday brunch at the Market Cafe in the Entertainer.
