We'll do the same as we always do - b***er all. No cards, no presents, no meal. Who says romance is dead? :D Sounds like us - never have and probably never will do - celebrate!

Where my DH's from they celebrate Valentine's in June :\: so he always forgets about it in February. However, last year he prepared a special meal for me, with champagne included. This year, I already got a card, I'll buy him a small present and I'll prepare his favorite meal and dessert. It's nice to have an excuse to celebrate love :)

Nothing as I'm working and the OH will most likely be sleeping. Rubbish working hours.

we exchange cards and maybe he'll get me some flowers and i'll buy him some stupid gift but we don't usually bother going out...Begrudge paying inflated prices just for the one night when we go out so much anyway...years ago a meal out was more special.

Shhhhh please no more bad reports! I'm going out for dinner, the first time in years... infact I think only the second time on Valentines day ever! so I am really looking forward to it. MY DH has always been away for business, so this year amazingly he's here, so we are going out :)

We usually do but that is mainly because I love food so jump on any excuse to eat out or have something delicious at home! But it annoys me having to pay over inflated prices for set menus etc and not being able to use Entertainer vouchers - so I think we will just get takeaway (not romantic at all but like I said - any excuse :) ) and an early night ;) I agree! We had so many vouchers that expired in 2011--couldn't use them around Christmas/NYE, and the only nights going out was feasible was the actual holidays. I was tossing vouchers for 500 dhs---ugh!! For Valentine's last year, we went to Rhodes 2010 and were not all that impressed for the $$$. To avoid being irked, we've preempted the anticipated high costs by not going out at all this month--and we'll just go all out the 14th. Not sure where--my husband likes to surprise me :)

The kids always are part of the picture for me! Can't leave them behind alone. But i always try to plan up something different and i ALWAYS buy him something but he ALWAYS forgets, and feels very awkward taking my gift! :)

Am always disappointed when you go out for Valentines .... hiked up prices, great expectations etc I'm either going to have a nice dinner cooked by one of us (hopefully DH!) although in the previous two years DS has cooked (now aged 13) and served it all for us all posh and had his in the kitchen, bless. Or I will order a nice take away and get a bottle of bubbly. Can't be too much wrong with my plan as we've been married 23 years :-)

Marmaduke and I positively relish an evening at the follies! http://dramaworkshopsdubai.com/blog/2012/01/this-valentines-day-drama-dubai-presents-almost-maine/ -there is a rumour that 2 mystery expat-woman forum members are in the cast. The shame..
