Hello!!
I usually buy my cards from a well known UK website but this evening i was sent an email from funkypigeon dot com.
Had a look and i think i will be sending cards to family and friends through them in future as they will also deliver gift cards with the card too - saves me the hassle of wondering how i can also get presents delivered!!
:)

Hi Sham!! The card will be posted to the address of the recipient - so yes,its an actual card. You can type whatever message you want in the card as the inside is blank. I found there are lots of cards to choose from with both the websites i used and with some of the cards, you can upload a picture from your computer if you want to add that personal touch!! Hi Kezza31 Moonpig and Funky pigeon sends actual cards?

Whats the difference in going into a shop and buying a card thats made for hundreds of thousands of people and writing a note in it than someone thinking of you, going online, spending time browsing through which one they think would suit you, putting in a photograph they think you would enjoy and then writing a nice note inside? I love moonpig, and I think its really lovely to get them as well! I couldn't agree more! i use moonpig all the time - at least twice a month..recently for mother's day, birthdays, engagements, sometimes just when i want to send a note to someone to let them know that i'm thinking of them, and i don't want to wait 2 weeks for snail mail to get there. The cards are fab, and you can personalise them so much with pictures, words etc that i don't know how this cn be seen as 'less of an effort'. in fact regular feedback i get is that everyone loves them. my friend's mum was moved to tears at the last one that i sent her and says she 'will never throw it away' (it has a nice photo of us on the front.) moonpig rocks!

The post is rubbish here - you can never guarantee anything. All these modern forms of communication get a vote from me - constant BB messaging, Skype, e mail, FB chat etc! I am a funkypigeon user and agree that you can get some great stuff on there e.g. the photo cards too!

Mmmmm-maybe I am odd but I would almost rather have no card from my children rather than receiving a computer generated one-there is something about a hand-written and even hand made card tht simply can't be beaten. I guess these sites have a purpose if you have totally forgotten to post your card in time-but that in itself is a bit sad isn't it............ edited by wuffles on 25/03/2011 hmmmm, I am sure that my mother is not this same type of [i'>odd[/i'>. In any case, I'm pretty sure she prefers a Skype video call any day of the year over a card! as for hand made - I once read online somewhere, "Just because you're thrifty doesn't mean you're creative". Not the same meaning here but I realised then that some people are good at some things...but for me, nothing handmade/homemade, etc. Sending my mother a hand made card would just be wrong :( WOW!!! this just made me think - what she would REALLY love is an engraved iPhone so that we can Skype even more!!! edited by ccdoha on 26/03/2011

Just because its done on a computer doesn't mean the thought is any less. I don't like e-cards though, as I really like getting the actual card in the post rather than just in the email. edited by AdviceSeeker on 26/03/2011 I know-I said I was odd! I am happy enough to make a card on my computer-download photos etc-but I like to make it here-sign it myself and put on the local stamps to make it more special-I do agree working out the timing is problematic so I email and say it is on its way!

I use Photobox.co.uk and upload relevant photos. Their cards are gorgeous, plus photo magnets, coasters, calendars etc etc. Excellent quality. Also Asda have great cards that you personalise and can also upload photos on some of them. Last night the kids and I created 2 A5 cards on photobox for Mother's Day, both with photos on, personalised text, total 6.99 inc postage. (42dhs)

I am another Moonpig user. We use the UK site and posting from the UK is so much better than from Dubai even for overseas. Plus I can put reminders in that email me and pop up year after year. I love the photo cards I can create and upload pictures of my DS as Thank you cards. His Granny was just here to visit so I created a thank you card of pictures I took of the both of them during her visit.

Love Moonpig - prepay a chunk of money then its so easy to just click on and order - did an anniversary card for Mum & Dad with their photos (when they were young) in a locket - they loved it posting cards is so difficult to get the timing right

I tend to use moonpig, but funkypigeon have a special offer on - if you put 6 contacts into your address book then they give you £3 credit (you have to put all 6 in at one time). Just done my Mother's Day card tonight on there and put the extra money towards a better present for her instead :)

Moonpig is the one that i use,or did use until tonight!!! Sage, had a look at the link and i have to say that the cards are beautiful - have saved it for future use!!! What i liked about the funkypigeon site was the giftcards that you could buy which could be sent with the cards..........MIL will soon have a Monsoon giftcard which is because of me and my generousity course!! ;)

My mum (and dad depends on whose birthday, mother's or father's day it is) doesn't mind me sending a computer generated card as they both know that I am thinking about them even though the card doesn't have my writing. I just cannot rely on the post from over here. I use moonpig and it gives me the option to send a little gift with the card. This Mother's Day, I will order a bouquet of flowers together with the card and I know what my mum will say..... "Thanks but you shouldn't have". She says this every year!!!!

I must admit, I tend to send online cards from http://www.jacquielawson.com ( I have no connection to the site) except that I love their cards, each one is a work of art and a shear joy to watch my personal favourites A pub lunch, The Entertainer, Sugar Plum Fairy, Santa's Flight, and many others too numerous to mention great product ! Have a look, they will make you smile

I understand what your saying as i would much prefer a handwritten card(am lucky my children are here in Dubai with me) BUT.....i did use this site to send my MIL a card on behalf of my DH - if it was left to him he wouldn't be bothered to send anything at all ;)
