I loved One Day but cried buckets (on the London underground) and enjoyed The Help (although there were parallels with Dubai Madams forever banging on about their maids). Currently reading The Immortal Life of henrietta Lack by Rebecca Skloot. It;s for my book club and wouldn't have chosen it myself but am liking it
I'm keen to read Not Without My Sisters by a trio of American women who lived as part of a cult, but it's not available on Kindle yet and I can't find it in bookstores. I guess it would help if I could remember the authors' names.
Last book I read was Light on Snow by Anita Shreve. Thought-provoking, especially since baby #2 is only weeks away.
Expat Woman and to be honest, it's a bit slow... hoping for a happy ending though (lunch time :D) lol
a happy ending :\:
tsk! tsk! not[i'> that[/i'> sort lolol. Was going to add, as i'm on my own but methinks that would have made it worse :D
Clash of Kings by George RR Martin... second in the series following on from Game of Thrones (awww, Sean Bean!). Very good books so far... all 800 pages each!
Oh, and I guess a few design management textbooks...

I can recommend 'room' by Emma donoghue
I am reading it now... Together with ' the help'... :-)
Oh thankyou! :) I was just gonna ask if anyone can recommend Room. Its on my list.
Just finished Mother without a Mask and really enjoyed it. Some of it is a little outdated but the general tone of the book was great and I learnt a lot about this region and in particular the women in this region.
Not sure what to read next...
The last one I read was Shantaram. Its one of the most interesting books I have ever read..
Really? I thought it was really good until he went to Afghanistan and then it just seemed a bit, well ridiculous ....
That's exactly what I was thinking when I was posting this. But before that, its really really good. Worth having to read the ridiculous bits.

The Other Hand by Chris Cleave. It is about 2 women and how they met and how their lives changed when they did, really don't want to say to much except read it!
