Hi Ladies, I'm about ready to pull my hair out trying to introduce solids to my 6 month old LO. How are you supposed to introduce one fruit/veg at a time when almost everything on the shelves here has 3 or 4 things mixed together.

So I've decided the best route for us is to buy a good food processor and do everything myself.
Can you recommend one?
Something that can do a really good puree?
Thanks!!

Or just give whole pieces of food and avoid the big puree fuss. ;) Any food processor or stick blender will do the trick perfectly. No need to spend a fortune as you the puree stage doesn't last very long.

I am also introducing solids to my baby now, and I dont think you need a special food processor, any good processor is fine, you can even mash the food yourself with a fork. Or, am I missing something?[/q [b'>I actually use a blender and a fork to prepare some of my DD's food, you dont need any special one just as long it does the job its intended to do.[/b'> edited by muu on 21/03/2012 Same here. Using a steamer, and then a fork to mash. Was actually planning to buy the Avent 2 in1, but then accompanied a friend in UK to a weaning workshop where they encouraged to use a fork to have lumpier food from the start. ETA: I introduced one food at a time and waited 2-3 days before introducing another to watch for any reactions. edited by Kermi on 21/03/2012

I am using Phillips Avent food processor and steamer (2 in 1); it is not very big, it steams the vegetables/fruit which is better than boiling them and once steamed I just flip it up side down and mash/puree them. It is easy to clean, does not take much space from the counter and comes with a guide that tells you how much water and time should be each vegetable or fruit steamed for. Very easy to use

Hi Kaba have you looked at the Beaba babycook? Thanks Dubai Blue Moon, I'd not seen that before. It looks like just what I need. Do you know if they sell them in Dubai? I checked the Just Kidding website but didn't see one.
