We are hoping to travel with our baby to Europe for a week staying in hotels. I know most of the hotels do not have microwave to use our sterilizer. Are there any other options when it comes to sterilizing baby's bottles?. TIA

thanks, where can I buy the tablets? Used to see them either In Mothercare or Babyshop. Might be worth to check C4 as well. (Maybe try them at home first to be sure that LO doesn't mind the smell :) ) edited by Kermi on 25/03/2012

hi pancake! I will be giving birth on May and will be travelling after wards. if you still have your tablets, I am very interested to have them. Thank you. Sure, no problem. I am in The Greens or I could drop them off to you on my way round the school run. edited by Pancake on 27/03/2012

Definitely the Milton tabs and take along a small bottle of your own dishwashing liquid. Have done this too many times to count, SO easy!

I made the mistake of not taking washing up liquid with me, assuming that I could buy some...which I couldn't. After trying shower gel(?!), had to resort to scrubbing them really well with the bottle brush and rinsing in boiling water. In the end I didn't use the sterilizing tablets as they left an unpleasant smell. I had read previously that the important part of the cleaning process is the scrubbing in hot water with washing up liquid and the sterilizing part was not necessary if you did the first part right. ETA: That said, if anyone wants sterilizing tablets, I have a load of boots own brand which I am very happy to give away to anyone who need them. edited by Pancake on 23/03/2012

The Milton tablets have been hard to find recently so I had actually got the Pigeon ones from the pharmacy. But saw Milton yesterday at Park n Shop Al Wasl if anyone was looking :)

Take some washing liquid and milton sterilising tablets. Clean the bottles out in the sink with warm soapy water, then fill the sink with water and add the bottles and a sterilising tablet and leave the bottles for 30mins.... dah dah sterilised bottles!!

worth checking with the hotel if they have a steriliser you can borrow in your room - worked for us on a couple of occasions!

I have the Pigeon compact steam sterilizer (got it from Union Coop), it can fit 1 - 2 wide neck bottles and doesn't take too much space in a suitcase.
