E-life - HELP PLEASE !!!!

We have e-life triple play package, internet, phone and HD TV, does anybody else have this and if so PLEASE can you tell me if you have the same trouble - tv always out of sync (different times etc) cannot find any instructions on how to use the series link, also deletes recorded channels after a few days.weeks. Any advice would be gratefully received - we are paying for something and hardly using it !!!!

Thanks for all the comments, everybody seems as fed up as me .... the man at etislat is even fed up with me !!! one further question - My husband tells me that you can only get Abu Dhabi sport on etislat .... does anybody have any ideas !!! or does anybody have both systems ..... a desperate lady who just wants to watch a bit of TV !!!

After living in the Marina on Du for 18 months I thought the ELife/EVision would be just as good - boy was I wrong! Agree with all comments all TV out of sync with times, no movies ever start on time stated and too many adverts between movies! And that awful magician they keep showing - arghhhh! Although that might be OSN. Unfortunately certain areas you can only have Etislalat otherwise I would be back with Du in a shot! As I write this I am waiting for them to arrive to install new EVision and Internet as new building doesn't have the right cables for the ELife. I would go for OSN but can't handle the thought of having to have a new decorder for the Al Jazerra Sports.

We got the Triple play....E-life or whatever it is that consists of internet, Tv and phone last year just before the world cup and added the world cup channel (at an extra charge ofcourse) BUT we only saw the last few matches of the world cup. Our bill was from the beginning of the subscription, Dh went to them 'till he decided to stop paying all together. They told him the 'system' wont allow for a deduction, we have to pay all amount due,(AED 9000 sometime this year) then they can recalculate [b'>[i'>THEN [/i'>[/b'>refund :/: After a million more calls, faxes and visits to them, our bill has magically been recalculated down to AED3,300 :) No more Etisalat packages in our house, we are surviving with the Du pay as you go internet, free to air channels, our mobiles and tons of downloaded Tv shows and movies!

I have the double package (forced) internet + phone. It doesn't work either. Its a nightmare really, paying for something that simply doesn't work. The Etisalat guys have been at our home several times now and nothing. Sometimes our phones stop working too. I don't believe in yelling at the poor front end staff as its absolutely no fault of theirs, I have pent up anger at the moment! Can I sue them if I do something stupid?!?!?

Yesterday our box went off and we were told they are updatng all the system. From what I have seen so far it looks miles better just waiting for the live TV to start back up after the update. The Tv lst etc all looks updated and times are correct ?? Time wll tell .....

Just this morning, my maid, who has the remaining box on e-life (we got rid of ours, although still being charged - another story there) tells me she has no service and needs a password. Also the extra channels I ordered have never materialised. Now off to the centre to cancel the whole tv (whats the betting I can't cancel) and will get her OSN. Etisalat - you ought to be very ashamed of your poor, non existent tv service.

I have e-life and it is RUBBISH!! My box is totally out of sync with everything. The listings are not right for what is supposed to be on, my box freezes every day more than 3 or 4 times and I have to switch it off and reboot it everytime and I also notice as I am watching the TV the sound and the person on the tv programme I am watching always goes out of sync causing me to change channel midway and go straight back as I so can't watch TV with lips out of sync!! Does anyone else have these problems? I am on speed dial to etisalat now and have requested someone come to fix my problems but nothing has happened as of yet. I love OSN showtime!! I was with them in my previous apartment and had NO problem!!

They should certainly be investigated. They are completely useless. We were double charged for ages after 'being migrated' (not an action by the customer is it??) and getting the refund was not easy. EVision/ Elife - the TV part is dire. Like the OP said you can't plan what you watch/ record and the EPG is completely non intuitive. I had about a million different complaint numbers for various things. Just had to vent on seeing this thread as i have spent painful hours in customer centres. At first we thought the volume thing was our TV but alas no - the Etisalat gremlins manage that too. They deserve to be losing business to Du as I think they are doing - and I have to say I am delighted no longer to be a customer of theirs. Ahh feeling better...

Etisalat have been a nitemare for me, so many problems, I moved apartments in December, appently I had migrated to elife, no one told me. i have been paying evision and al shamil, but they have been billing me for elife. i am now trying to sort out this mess. Etisalat came last week to migrate me to triple pay, I didn;t ask for it, so I don't know what i have. My phone doesn't work, it's a joke

We returned our extra boxes (still waiting to be credited) and kept the tv package for our maid and added some extra channels for her. We have gone back to OSN and added Al Jazeera sport. Couldn't believe how the tv package worked. Yes you get the football but you don't know when they would be screened. Total farce!

Thanks ladies ..... so is OSN better ? the reason we had to have !!! elife is for my husband to watch the football, any other suggestions - will switch if I can offer him an alternative -

it's total RUBBISH I wish I was back with DU! it's almost impossible to record anything as it dosn't accept series links, the volume from the actual programme to the commercial changes drastically so if you are trying to watch TV quietly at night it's difficult to manage the settings all the time, the list goes on.......

I now have e-life too unfortunately!!!! It is cr*p! I thought Du was bad but at least the TV was good. I never watch the TV now as, like you say, programmes that are supposed to be on, aren't!!!

At least you have it. We pay for e-life since september, and just had the cables changed, further instalment might take another few months, that what they say in etisalat :(

I have virtually taken up residence at the Etisalat office since we switched to E-life! For the out of sync times call 101 and ask them to reset the signal which does a software update and that puts it right ( ours were on Saudi time)/
