We have a Pajero and it seems it does not have the clips in the seat for an isofix. Is this just our model (2009) or all pajero's here? Tried to speak to the dealer but in true Dubai style they have no idea what I am talking about.

Hi, (my first post!!) I know this is an old thread but this may still be useful. We thought we would have ISOfix on our Mitsubishi Pajero as we didn't collect it until Sep 2011 and newer models should have it BUT upon closer inspection our car is dated Nov 2010 so it is not included. I have found that by getting a Maxi-Cosi Cabrio-fix car seat and the Easy Fix base we have the option of ISOfix later or securing the seat or base with the seatbelt. HTH ;)

We have the 2011 pajero and it does have isofix. However, its european fit (or is it american?) cant remember which now, so instead of the isofix latch being between the back-rest and seat, its positioned at the back, under the seat (you have to climb in from the back and dig your hands into/under the seats to find it) so completely useless to us living here. We bought a mamas & papas carseat with an easybase instead. The guys from m&ps were great in installing it, its secure and super easy to operate. My dh's car has the proper isofix latch, so we bought the base for his car. Hth

I have tried to speak with Mitsubishi about installing an Isofix but like many of the other people on the forum they have no clue as to what I am talking about. Does anyone know where I can get the Isofix/Latch installed in my Pajero?

if you're asking, rather than looking, you need to ask about LATCH as well, it is another name for the same thing (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren), possibly more American but seems to be a fairly widespread term.

I bought a brand new Nissan in 2008, when found out i was expecting bought the isofix base as expected my car to have the brackets as the car is only made in the UK where it is a standard. Of course my new car didn't have them. So contacted by email Nissan Europe and recieved a call a few hours later from the UAE manager who organised for the brackets to be shipped from the UK and was fitted within a few weeks. Our waranty was still good. This was handled by the Deira branch next to CC. It can be done!

Haven't actually asked in the garages but we did find it a real mission to get an suv in our price range with isofix. As you said it surprised us how many people hadn't heard of it even!! We bought a jeep compass in the end but were looking at vw toureg too. Gmc did isofix in the terrain or something like that but yet Chevrolet in the same garage didn't do it in the captiva, the same size car. What was really stupid was Honda!! We walked in and looked at the crv, what you would expect to be the family car, didn't have it at any level apparently, however tge civic that had been sported up to it's eyeballs with spoilers and bucket seats lowered suspension, only 3 door that would generally attract a young lad etc did have it!!!!

my lovely BMW X3 came with isofix - it is so much easier (though if you are strapping in each time, as opposed to mostly leaving in the car, is it an infant seat? some of them at least come with bases you can strap in, then you just click the seat onto the base each time)

Our Toyota (Fortuna) doesn't have isofix, and when we asked the Toyota garage about fitting it, they had never even heard of isofix! Really annoying, as I have a great isofix carseat brought from the UK, which I now have to fiddle around strapping in each time, and with the style of driving over here, you really want your carseat to be as safe as possible. . According to our antenatal classes garages will add these for you, but we just kept searching for a brand and model in our price range that had them already. interesting, because when I asked at dealer's garage to add isofix (Honda, Pajero, Nissan) they said they cant do it as it would void car's warranty...this was as recent as last month as we also searching for car with isofix...so far I only found Toyota and VW have them in our price range

we've just bought a brand new car and we we're shocked how few had isofix hooks. According to our antenatal classes garages will add these for you, but we just kept searching for a brand and model in our price range that had them already. It was my understanding that it was mandatory in new cars in the UK to have isofix!! another safety feature skipped over for the gulf...where we need it most!!!

I am afraid it is all Pajero's in the UAE. In other countries the Pajero's do have the isofix, but for some unknown reason the ones produced for here, do not. We also have a 2009 model, and were going to get a new model last year if they had started including them, but they haven't. I did some investigating at the time, and asked if they planned to include them in future models, they didn't know if, or when it would happen, so perhaps they have added them, but it has been a good 8-10 months since I last checked it out. HTH
