tkoshy...where is the shop in Cochin? I may fly there soon -but on a tight schedule , so i would like to zip in , buy and zip out rather than wasting time searching for the shop NNair has posted the shops that are easily accessible in Ernakulam ( there is one in Fort Kochi too). The Bay pride shop has older stock but better variety. The shop in the departure area of Cochin airport ( about halfway down the terminal, next to a bookshop, I think) has newer designs but not a lot of stock. If you can get to Marine Drive, shop at the Baypride place. I bought my last two bags from the airport though..nothing like last minute shopping at 7 am!!

Stovetop... where did u get Hidesign bags here? I love their designs and very good quality too.... but i could never find them in Dubai.Is it only available via online shopping ? They used to be available at Jashanmal till last year. But I've always bought mine from India. Really convenient (and tempting) that they have tied up with some airports, so I buy them when I fly out :) Love their travel wallets and keychains too. Love, love Hidesign. Have a few bags and a clutch that are beautifully made and well designed. Hubby has 3 leather briefcases and a folder that he loves to bits. They are really cheap in India (not by Indian standards though). There was a store in DFC but it was in a bad location and never advertised. Buy them in Delhi or Cochin. And here I was thinking nobody knew about them!!

LV's are the same price here as in the states. I have two and both were purchased here (one in Abu Dhabi and one in the Dubai Mall) and were the same exact price in the states but here I didn't pay the 8% sales tax so it actually cost less here. I bought the BREA off the LV online site in the UK it cost me 4602AED In Dubai they wanted 6000AED so i save 1400DHS which is 200 GBP

I saved about $300 by buying my Marc by Marc Jacobs purse thru a US dept store website, at normal retail price plus 8.5% sales tax, instead of at their boutique in Dubai Mall. If you buy a purse over $150 you really should buy it because you love the design, not because you want others to admire the brand name. The more obvious the logo, the more vulgar.

LV are more expensive here than in the UK. Buying online is around 1000 cheaper with LV than from the stores here. They all have massive mark up prices !

Can anyone tell me how much would a normal branded bag cost here in dubai? I mean the authentic ones. Can be any brand, LV, Chanel.,Gucci etc etc. Not very large not very small. So I'd know how much cash to carry when i go for shopping LOL :D
