Great advice ladies! I will definitely view at different times!
Could I ask you Jules around what house number you are living (give a range)? I know it's cheeky but we want to put an offer on a house that is half way between gates 1 and 2 and feeling a bit nervous!
A million thanks
We do, and we have minimal noise. We are near gate 1 once the road bends to the right, so we're actually the furthest point from the roundabout. There is a large landscaped area between us and the perimeter road, full of trees that pretty much block the view. We also have a fountain in the pool that cancels out any noise at busier times. In our area, if we get noise, its usually in the late afternoon, depending on how the wind is blowing.
If you were closer to gate 2 or 3 however, i think it would be very noisy. I know people who are on side streets near those ates, and their gardens are much noisier than ours, so i really think it depends on the villa. As others have said, go at differnet times to see what its like. What we really like is the privacy, as there is noone overlooking our house. We opted for this rather than park as there i feel every passer by stares in at your house. Good luck!
I don't live in a perimeter villa but dh and i did view a few of them recently. As we spend a lot of time in the garden and were buying we decided against one of these villa's. Having said that the only way to make a judgment is it to view the villa's as the noise from the road is different from each villa and the noise level also changes depending on the direction of the wind. Make sure you have 2 viewings on each villa at different times of the day that will enable you to make a more informed decision.
