sorry to go on and on about dishwasher..
but thinking of goin for seimens, slightly expensive one ,around Dh3300..

I am thinking , what if I bought it and then used it for just a handful of times.. What if I went back to washing by hand.. it would be sucha waste of money..

So did anyone buy a dishwasher and then not used it much or regretted spending on one?

Just tryin to look at it from all angles.. the possible convenience of it.. or perhaps not..

any thoughts appreciated
TIA

We had a dishwasher in our last apartment, but none in our current one. I wash our dishes in our double sinks and to be honest, I prefer washing by hand. We're two people and it takes 20 minutes for me to clean up after 2 homecooked meals so it isn't really all that time consuming. The whole process of loading/unloading the dishwasher annoys me for some reason, and my method of hand washing is more energy efficient than using a dishwasher.

hi i had a dishwasher in my last apartment, in the 4 years we were there i used it just to deep clean toilet brushes and bins. never used it for dishes. with 2 of us it was quicker to hand wash. i think if you do a lot of cooking and baking probably handy tho.

Totally agree Amelia, only two of us too and couldn't live without a dishwasher, I've had most brands over the years in rental places but the ones I've bought myself have always been Siemens and once Zanussi cos I needed a slimline one, never really had any probs with them, I put everything in the dishwasher except my good wooden handled steak knives, they're not in everyday use, but seriously everything else goes in - go for it you'll never have regrets and never do dishes again!!

Our siemens one is great. If used properly it is more efficient than washing by hand.

Yes, my husband cost a fortune, did the dishes fine to begin with but over time he started to do a worse and worse job of it and now doesnt do any at all. But still costs a bomb in maintenance!!! [Sorry tongue in cheek but Ive been off the boards for a bit and couldnt resist!'>4 PPS - I love my dishwasher... LOL..see thats why I am so wary of buyin dishwashers.
