I turned out to be a January mom. Delivered in Al Zahra hospital. Was with Dr Yamini throughout pregnancy but she couldn't reach me on time as 1) it was Friday 2) delivery was very quick. But the midwife (Emma) was great. My husband was very impressed with her too :) So good luck to you all! Have an easy delivery!

Big blue: hi I'm due on 26th feb... This is my 1st pregnancy ... What about you...Why don't you join the coffee mornings on Monday... Would be lovely to meet you and you will also meet a lot of other moms and moms to be there.. Hi First time mom,, I wish I could but I'm working so coffee mornings aren't an option for me... I'm starting my leave in a couple of weeks as I'll be heading home for the delivery and hence I'll be gone for 2 months or so. Perhaps I'll meet some February babies when we come back as I will have leave for a few months and may be able to join a coffee morning then:-) Best of luck to all the ladies with your pregnancies, I wish safe deliveries and healthy, bubbly babies to all!

Hi all, I'm due in March but couldn't find a March 2015 board and so thought I'd join this one. I've literally just moved from the UK (been here 4 days!) and will be a first time mum. I'm technically on maternity leave from the UK and so am not working and am keen to meet some Dubai future mummies! I'm going along to the Bumps and Babes coffee morning tomorrow and hope to see some of you there? Btw, is anyone using Dr Azizunnisa at City? I had an appointment with her as soon as I arrived and she seems good so far! x

Hi girls, Not been on here for ages, it's great to see a Feb due dates thread. I'm due on the 27th of Feb with my first baby, very excited but nervous too. Would be lovely to make some new mummy friends as I don't have any friends out here with kids, although I'm still currently working so none of the meet ups really suit at the moment. Is anyone else having trouble sleeping? I'm really struggling at the moment despite being tired all day at work!! X

Hi First time mum ? I'm not a Feb mum but I wanted to help put your mind at ease with your choice of Dr. I will be delivering any day now with Dr Ibrahim and he has been totally supportive in my preference to have a natural delivery. However if he has any medical reason for the alternative I would be sensible enough to follow his advice. He has delivered many of my friends babies all natural apart from one who delivered twins and every one of them has had nothing but praise for him. I know it can be stressful selecting a Dr but you have an awesome one so try not to worry yourself, very best wishes in your pregnancy & delivery ?

Hey all the beautiful mommies to be, I am 23 weeks now and going to Dr Ibrahim at City hospital. Have any of you had any experience with him. Because i am very pro natural birth and Ibrahim is a surgeon... and not heard of any natural deliveries from him. So i am a little worried now .. Coz dont want to end up in a c section if i can have a natural birth.. Or should i change my doctor ??

First time mom- maybe I will come along, the time and day seems good for me. In a few weeks I'll come along as we are on hols now. Perhaps we will meet each other there! VZ- you are very good for doing that exercise. I do nothing at all and it's disgusting! Being on holidays right now my diet is terrible, I can't wait to get back to Dubai and start eating better, I am craving good salads, lots of fresh food and no fries!!!! I am totally thinking about getting a sewing machine. Never used one before but I want to make some pillowcases out of my daughters cott sheets, don't want to sell or give them away so I figured that would be nice. Barlas- I used Alphacort for 7 days around my eyes. I was told not to exceed that, it helped to clear it to the point where my eyes looked normal (they were so swollen for about a week) but still I have redness. I moisturise my entire face with Cetaphil now and around my eyes I use Vaseline at night and sleep with an eye mask to prevent it drying up with the AC. It seems good but I need to use concealer for work or photo occasions. Under my arms I just used Alphacort again for 7 days and it has helped a lot but it will come back. I can't shave or use deodorant, so I have to use Vaseline and a special homemade deodorant, it's very effective (which for me is saying something lol)

Hi ladies, I have finally made it in here, has taken me ages to feel up to it!! I am expecting my second on 12th. Feb. We have a 2.5yo princess and now expecting a boy :-) We are with City Hospital, Dr Ibrahim, just like with our first. No complaints about him or the city hospital experience. We live in JVC so it is a bit of a hike but we don't mind. So how are you all feeling? I am feeling quite ok now, some days a bit off but thankfully the MS has cleared after 4.5 tough and tiring months. Getting my energy back now yay! Anyone have any skin problems? I have hormonal excema around my eyes and under my arms. I had to use steroid cream for my eyes to get it under control but my underarms are painful, flame red and very difficult to manage. Otherwise, looking forward to getting my body back though still a way to go for that! Still BFing DD and my weight is ballooning again, 4kg last month.... I just can't seem to eat well on days where I feel off and I feel like I need a lot of calories to keep up, so chocolate and carbs it is!! With both pregnancies I have had a hard time managing what I eat.. Any tips?!!! I am having an eczema just in between my eyebrows and near eyelids. I used steroid creams for about two weeks but didn't help, so I gave up as I don't want to overuse any steroids. Plan to get back to it after delivery if nothing changes. What creams do you use?

Hi ladies, just got round to having another look on the Feb board. Glad to see everything is going well so far with you all. I just had my 20 week scan recently and all seems well, so that's always a relief. I had been referred by Dr Britt to Genesis for the scan, but after realising my insurance doesnt include Genesis, I decided to go with City Hospital for the scan as I have direct billing there & my friend had had her scan there recently with no issues. Big blue, thanks for your info about the scan, I also was sceptical wondering why the City Hospital doctors prefer to refer the patients to Genesis, so I decided to keep my appointment at Genesis as a back up incase I wasn't happy with the City scan. However, I am pleased to advise that the City scan was great, the doctor doing the scan was very professional & was EXTREMELY thorough, good equipment and there was nothing she didn't measure/check & I got a Cd with all the images and 4D also. I don't know what else I could have gained from a scan to be honest, the main reason for the scan is for them to thoroughly check the baby & that was definitely achieved. I had my sons scan in the UK and I can tell you that City was way better than the NHS scans. I would definitely recommend City for the anatomy scans. I ended up cancelling my Genesis scan as there was really no need. I havent made it to any coffee mornings yet, Just don't seem to have the time at the moment, always running from one thing to the next! I think the only one I could go to is Dubai Mall at 10 am as I need to be back to pick my son from school. Sparkly - I can totally sympathise with you, I have been feeling rubbish this pregnancy & slowly starting to feel better. Gaining weight rapidly, 4 kgs in past 4 weeks so I may need to do the gestational diabetes test earlier than planned. Nothing seems to agree with me, I am having stomach issues, bloated, feel sick, or just feel generally unwell. I'm slowly realising I cannot eat out at all as it makes me worse and certain foods are not agreeing with me. A diet of toast & eggs & toasted cheese & tomato are my lifelines at the minute. I started a pregnancy exercise class last month, it's circuits, really enjoy it. Guess I just need to feel that I am doing something to curb the huge weight gain as I don't want to be unhealthy. I will probably start yoga or Pilates also soon. Are there any crafters in the group? Just bought a sewing machine and going to tackle making a nursing cover soon, got some lovely light fabric and some great tutorials on Pinterest.

Hi I decided on City Hospital and Dr Britt. I had my first appt with her and so far she seems very good, but also relaxed in a good way :) I havent been to any of the bumps and babes meetups yet, but was considering going. I think I will go to the one in Dubai Mall if I am going as that is the closest to me. We are in Jumeirah1 - anybody else in the area?

Hello Ripsy & First time mom. I have also only just moved to Dubai. Have you been to any of the coffee mornings yet? It's on my list of things to do very soon! (roughly) where a outs in Dubai are you staying? Ripsy - how did you get on on your tours? I Went to Saudi General and was left quite underwhelmed. Found out we actually have two insurances here, and the second covers city, though not al Zara, so off to an appointment with dr Britt next week. Did you other ladies get on ok with your 20 week scans? X

Hi Ladies :) I am also new to Dubai, only been here just over a week. I am due Feb 5th (If you count 40 weeks in Dubai? In Norway, where I am from they count 40+3). It´s my second, have a 3 year old girl. First delivery was great, so hoping to have an other good experience. I had a scan at 16 weeks and it looks like we are having an other little girl :) . I have just started looking into hospitals and I am going to see The City and Al Zahra. I have appointments with Dr Brit Clausson at the City Hospital and Dr Yamini at Al Zahra. Will decide what to do after the tour this weekend. Has any of you been to the bumps and babes Expat Woman coffee mornings?

Hi ladies, So, I've finally established that our insurance only covers SAudi German. This bothers me a bit as through forums and the few mums I've met that have delivered here, [b'>no one[/b'> has mentioned SG, it's all been City/Al Zhara. Even a quick google hasn't really brought up much. I'm 18 weeks so need to get a move on as have had no care since my 12 week scan back in the UK and would like a check and my 20 week scan! ANy thoughts/stories (good and bad!) on SG?

Congrats to all on the upcoming Feb babies! Tootypy, I agree with Coffee Mates great advice as well. I am with Dr Britt, and after my first appointment last week, I am very confident I made the right choice. The appointment was quick as she had a baby to deliver but I could tell from the get-go that she is definitely the right doctor for me. I went back to the UK last time to have my son and was a bit wary on delivering here to be honest, but I am very at ease with it all now after selecting the right doctor and hospital. I did initially want to go to Al Zahra mainly because they have a pool to labour in that sounds great & more midwife led, but my insurance doesn't cover it & non reimbursable out of network. If you aren't restricted by insurance then I would definitely consider choosing either City or Al Zahra, both seem to be popular with western expats and meet with our UK type expectations (or even better). Norts, I know someone with Dr Ibrahim and she is very happy with him. Oh your so lucky you escaped the morning sickness! Thank god we are all getting over that stage though and progressing on to the next. So ladies, I guess the next milestone for us is the 20 wk scan. Where are you all booked in? I got a referral for Dr George but realised after making my appointment that my insurance doesn't cover his clinic, so I asked to be referred within City instead. Not sure why the doctors at City seem to prefer their patients to go to Dr George for the scan. I am sure he is great, but I don't see the point to pay out of pocket when I can get what I need from within City and have it fully covered. Do you all know what you are having? or is anyone keeping it a surprise? The Dr is pretty sure this one is a girl but it was a very quick scan last week as she was in a rush so we need to have it reconfirmed at the 20 wk scan. However, I am 99.9% sure it is a girl as I saw my sons scan at this stage and it was glaringly obvious that he was a boy, this time there was a major lack of boy parts! Hi there, after a few years of following these threads and now in my second pregnancy, I always had the impression that there are very few qualified places in Dubai to do the 20 week scan (both in terms of equipment and Dr qualifications) and usually the ones that come up are FMC and Dr George. Since apparently many City doctors refer their patients to Dr George this may mean that the hospital itself is not fully qualified to do this scan. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I think you should investigate further and get fully comfortable that the Dr/clinic you are planning to do it at is well qualified.

Hello February ladies! Hope you're all keeping well, I am due early feb with number 2, planning to deliver with Dr Jozsa (sp?) at Al Zahra. I live in the Greens so very excited not to have to trek all the way out to City for appointments etc, fingers crossed will all go well. I think some people were saying they might go to the bumps and babes Expat Woman coffee morning at Marina Mall this Thursday, so be great to see you there if any of you can make it. Hannah
