You can't just get any credit card here. The company you work for has to be listed with a bank in order for them to issue you a credit card. It's better to fins out first which banks you can apply to and then see which card works best for you. This is the first I'm hearing of this...I had no idea. We just rocked up to a bank and got signed up.

If you have any Platinum Master card or Visa Platinum or infinite (irrespective of the issuing bank) issued in the Gulf you get lounge access. I've used FGB for lounges access in Dubai and even SCB provides you lounge access at other international airports too.

Emirates NBD infinite Skywards card is probably the best as you get Silver Emirates card, skywards miles and lounge access. However, your salary must be a minimum of 30,000 AED per month and your company needs to be registered/approved with the bank.

Hi, I have an Emirates NBD credit card that has a good program for Skymiles and lounge access. Platinum I think. It is not the infinite that other ladies mentioned--I think with that one, the benefits are better plus with a 3000 AED, one-time fee, makes you a "Silver" on Emirates for as long as you have the card?? They even offered that to me for a reduced buy-in fee of 850, but I declined as I am a Gold on Emirates anyway. Thanks for the reminder...I need to check my miles balance :)

Emirates Islamic bank has a skywards credit card. Our credit card is linked to a fixed deposit so no paper works needed other than the passport with the visa

Emirates NDB Visa Infinite will give you Skywards miles, and also gives you membership to the LoungeKey lounge access program.

I think Emirates nbd got miles on it. We have never had a problem opening a bank account here. We have banked with both HSBC and Mashreq.
