I was looking at taking our guest next week on the Big Bus Tour and just saw it's $60 USD for an adult. That's $174 US dollars just for me, SIL, and my two boys. Wow! Are there any deals out there for Big Bus Tours?

It's a discount card you order through TimeOut magazine - gives you 20% off lots of places, nice restaurants like Mango Tree, etc. With that and the Entertainer book you're good to go!

I'm pretty sure your TimeOut card gives you 20% off - might pay to call them and check.

I did the Big Bus tour is February and they had a 20% discount if you payed with MC credit card, not sure if they still do it. I agree that it is expensive but we enjoyed it!

Yes that route is the best one to do, but do both if you can as the beach route includes showing you Atlantis and the Burj Al Arab, etc...so nice for visitors...

I just read in their brochure that my boys will be free since they are under 5 so at least we are down to $120. Guess SIL and I will go during the week so DH will be at work. Next question, which route should we pick? I'm leaning towards the old Dubai area with the souks.

This is the 2nd year the Big Bus Tour have not been in The Entertainer, I used to frequently take guests but I have not done it since they stopped the voucher offer, it's cheaper to hire a limo (not that I have done that either!!).

Thank you for the ideas! I saw the price on their website and thought it was dhs until I saw the $ next to the price. That's a lot of money!

We too were going to do this last wknd with my DD and her friend while they were here on holiday, we soon changed our minds when we worked out what it would cost for 4 adults and 1 child, far too expensive I think.

They had Big Bus vouchers in those little discount books from Virgin last year - you could check if they are in this year....I forget the name of the books though....they are by the area where you pay...Edited: it's called ''The Experience Gold Edition'' ....check this post from last year.. http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=101687 edited by chizz on 14/04/2011

Youch! You can always use the ordinary bus system-it will take you to virtually all the places the Big Bus does without the double decker views of course. Still for a maximum of 14 dhs a day it is great value. Or combine it with the Metro and the 4dhs water taxis and 1 dh abras-lots of ways to see Dubai on a budget. Best yet if your boys are under 5 they will travel for free edited by wuffles on 14/04/2011

They used to be in the entertainer books and we booked them with guests all the time but not in the ones this year! I was gobsmacked at the prices. When I spoke to the office and realised that the entertainer voucher wasn't available I asked if there were other offers and back in Feb they were doing a deal if you paid with a particular credit card (can't remember which one) it wasn't on their website so it's worth calling the office and asking if there are any offers you can take advantage of.
