Thanks for all your replies, very much appreciated! Is there maybe another brand name that are known to be good (less than 2500dhs)? Check out cross - I love [url=http://www.cross.com/townsend-quartz-blue-lacquer-fountain-pen.aspx'>this[/url'> design They stock in Jashanmal. Have a lifetime warranty. And have a wide range of prices. My brother uses their AED 300 pen. My dad has their pen-pencil set for AED 1350 and recently we got a him-her set for my cousin's wedding (a keepsake of the signing of the wedding contract) .. Anyways, point is that they cater to all tastes

I've been researching this a lot lately and it is cheaper to buy online and have it shipped over from this company www.wheelersluxurygifts.com (I'm talking about Mont Blanc). However, because it's a 'luxury good', I'm not sure if you'd have to pay import tax on arrival. If so, it might not make it such a saving. I am going to buy in the UK and claim back VAT at the airport when I leave.

In Town Center in Beach Road is a pen shop with a variety of brands. It may be useful to go there to compare. They do have Mont Blanc and Parker pens.

Massive difference. Prker pens are what we used as kids for our "best writing" and cost very little. Mont blanc can be from 1,000 - 10,000 for a pen. My receint pen was AED 2,450 from Mont Blanc Bur Juman. Wow. May have been wrong about the Parker (couldn't remember the name exactly but thought it started with a P). I know he said Mont Blanc but had no idea on the cost! Maybe I'd be better off buying elsewhere and having it shipped? Seems like everything is marked up so much here.

My mont blanc was purchased from their store in IBN and it was just under 2k. If your getting a pen as a present I would recommend a mont blanc not a parker. Massive diference in weight, glide of the pen and overall quality.

Mont Blanc are very expensive! There are Mont Blanc shops in MoE and Dubai Mall, maybe others but I am not sure. Parker pens are far more affordable - http://www.penscorner.com/pens_corner_-_about_us.htm http://www.theworldofpens.com/ This is a fab shop!

I'm looking for a gift for my DH, either a Mont Blanc (Generation) or a Parker pen. I know he wants one that's blue with gold accents. I've never shopped for anything like this before. If you can recommend somewhere that has a good selection and reasonsble prices I'd really appreciate it! TIA!
