Hi, We are planning to move to dubai in the near future, so we will looking for a nursery for our 2 year old daughter where she can get some additional assistance in terms of speech therapy. Just to give her background, she was diagnosed with Apert Syndrome at the time of her birth, she has gone through all the surgeries that were needed and happy to say that she has been growing up quite well and her cognitive skills are like normal kids of her age group as well so as per the doctors she should be attending a normal school, she 'might' need some assistance wrt speech, so appreciate if you ladies can assist and guide us in the right direction. Thanks and look forward to hearing from the team.

I would second Inspire Nursery. I can also recommend The Developing Child Centre in Umm Suqeim. Look at www.tdcc.ae You can also contact Kids First www.kidsfirst.ae. They have several SLTs that go out to offer services to schools and nurseries. You could ask which nurseries they visit. You should also start looking at schools as soon as you arrive as pressure on FS1 and FS2 places is very high at the moment. As far as I know the only schools that have SLTs on the staff are Repton (Sarah Booth) and Gems World Academy (Rathica Palavar).

Hi My DD has development issues and we work with both therapists and her nursery. I found Indigo Valley Nursery in Al Twar the best for inclusion of special needs kids. They offer mainly OT services in addtion (no extra cost) and work with my DD other therapist (speech and OT) to assit her in nursery. Many therapy centers also will attend nursery's to work with the kids in the classrooms as well - but this will be at a higher cost than a session in their clinics. HTH

google or do an EW search for a lady called Sarah Booth (Speech therapist) from Repton school, she may be able to help you find the right people and school.

You should try Inspire nursery in Umm suqeim. They have therapists (occupational) which come to the nursery on a regular basis (at extra charge of course) I am sure they can arrange speech therapists as well. The nursery is very diverse and welcomes children with special needs. Good luck!
