Hello ladies!

My first thread and post here :D Sorry it's a boring [and quite pathetic and precious] one to start... >.<

Has anyone had any experience with shipping liquids from the UK to Dubai?

I know it sounds sad, but I've ran out of my faaaavourite moisturisers of all time, and I cannot find them for love no money ANYWHERE here in Dubai. And trust me, I have looked EVERYWHERE!!

The products in question are: 'Garnier's Summerbody Moisturising Lotion Sunkissed Look' and 'Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Natural Bronze'.

Me thinks the reason this might be is because these 2 moisturisers have a hint of tan in them and almost every moisturiser here is for blimmin' whitening!!

I was also dismayed to find out that a few month's before my arrival here, Nars Cosmetics was pulled from all the Sephora shops :( and lo and behold, my most perfect liquid foundation is from Nars and I've ran out of that too!

I asked my sister in law to send me these bits through FedEx but they said they can't ship them as they fall in the liquids category and they don't /can't ship liquids.

Does anyone know of a way/company that DO ship liquids?

P.S. Sorry if there is already a thread on this. I did a search and scanned through the thread titles but didn't see one with this exact subject.

Thanks, Sanddy_Dogg. I signed up late last night and have been shopping ever since! Only annoying thing has been when I fill up my amazon basket and realise certain items will be shipped separately due to not being 'fulfilled' by amazon. One of these items is an eyebrow pencil from the US. I'm not paying AED 43 just for the pencil! So I've had (haha "HAD") to bulk it out with more purchases. Get that mutha up to 500g!! :D

Sort of.... You get given several addresses such as China, UK, US, Turkey, India. For example, if you order something from Amazon.com (the US website) you input your US Shop and Ship address (a New York address). Amazon, or the supplier, will send the item to your NY S&S address and you will have to pay any delivery charges applicable to get it there. S&S will then forward the item on to you in the UAE charging AED 43 for the first 0.5kg then AED 34 for each extra 0.5kg. Always check the shipping weight if you can - S&S charges can often make it cheaper to buy here in the UAE.

Spinney's Motor City had some of the Palmers Cocoa Butter with a hint of self tan this afternoon. On the end of the body moisturiser aisle facing the cosmetics Oh my word, robertj77!! You absolute BEAUTY, YOU!!! :D As soon as I read this post I jumped in the car to get it!! It's so sad but this has made me so happy, haha! Except, jeez...I forgot how strongly of Cocoa Butter it smelled. Now I remember why I only used this one on my legs and the Garnier Summerbody one on my body :-/ But still, thank you!! :D I bought 3 bottles! Now, this Shop & Ship thing...can someone explain it to me better than the website, please? Either I'm on the wrong website (shopandshipdotcom) or I just can't seem to understand anything on their "How We Roll" page. Here's how I understand it: You sign up, then as part of the sign up you have to immediately pay $45.00, then you get given an "account number" which is actually an address?, and THAT address is the one you input into your delivery address when you buy something off anything that delivers to UAE, and then...that...will...make it so I don't...pay for delivery? Because I've already paid my $45 or whatever it is to SnS? Sorry I sound like such an idiot! [b'>EDIT:[/b'> Just found a thread on here that explains it. Turns out I was right! Sorta... edited by poshbird87 on 19/10/2013 edited by poshbird87 on 19/10/2013

Two weeks ago I received a cream exfoliater I ordered from the US and today I received my hair colour toner which is a cream I ordered from the UK, both products were delivered through shop and ship and I had no issues whatsoever, they did not charge me extra for delivery either. The package today had also been opened so they obviously knew what was in the package. Perhaps I had no issues as I bought the products from Amazon???

I shipped in a skinceuticals suncream via shop+ship, and it was liquid I ordered it on US ebay, got it sent to my US S+S address and it was forwarded here, no issues at all! Weird, I guess they didn't know it was liquid?

Odd indeed! Why liquids and not creams, and why an extra $10 :D

[I was on live chat with them a while back and was told they would't ship cream eyeshadows or mascara *sigh* Weird, S&S now ships for extra $10 fee perfumes, nail polish, and hair growing products (!) but not creams...

No, I just didn't get the answer I was hoping for. Yes, it's over the *bump bump bump* Bay Of Bengal. It calls for copious amounts of alcohol :(

I read that there is this new deal with Shop and Ship whereby you can bring in cosmetics for an extra $10 fee. I have not used it myself, but it might solve your problem... I was on live chat with them a while back and was told they would't ship cream eyeshadows or mascara *sigh*

Wow, what a great response!! Thank you , everyone x Particular thanks to Sanddy_Dogg who volunteered her Dad to be my Moisturiser Mule! Haha! And to sarahlou123 who also offered valuable suitcase space to cram in my vain girly products :) What I think I'll do is try and get family from the UK to send it via Royal Mail or DHL as Tattie Bogle suggested, and if that doesn't work, Sanddy_Dogg I may come back to you with your offer if that's ok...! Unfortunately I don't have any friends or family coming over from the UK to visit until at least Christmas :( I just purchased some of my favourite cream from ebay in the UK, and it was sent to me royal mail. It arrived five days later, in perfect condition, although customs had opened it to check it. hope that helps :) So did you use your normal UK eBay login, but put your address down as Dubai? What are the postage costs like? I purchased a product from an American online store, the product was $25 but the postage was $27!!! :-O It is possible by post, I've had my sister send me stuff. Although, I think the post office at home suggested she write gels instead of liquids on the packaging. However, it was very obviously liquids and it got through, so maybe worth a go. FFx Did your sister post your stuff through Royal Mail?

I use the Garnier Summerbody but buy it in bulk when I am at home or have friends bring it over as it isn't sold here. Most couriers will not ship liquids and shop and ship definitely wont Can you not ask someone to bring it over when they visit. I am not venturing home for a while otherwise would of got you some

Try DHL -they often ship things other courier companies can't, - dry ice etc. They are also used by most other courier companies to ship passports.

Shop and Ship won't, that I do know (from experience!) I'm not sure if regular mail will. If it helps my Dad is coming out either the end of this month or beginning of next and he could bring them if you want to get it sent to him.
