Not sure where my original post has gone, but I will still post the fact that my nanny named Sri Susilawati Petahudin of indonesian origin with a valid till October 2015 has absconded from my house. She has her passport and Emirates ID. If you intend to hire or give her shelter please beware as she will become illegal soon.
Dear Admin - there are no passport details above please dont remove it. People need to know who they are letting into their house....

Have you tried calling her mobile? If its switched off would it tend to confirm she has done a runner, but if it rings and she does not answer I would be worried for her, she might even answer it and you could speak to her. As yet you do not know what the cause of her dssapearance is, I expect immigration will ask you if you have tried to call her too.

Thank you for your replies...I have locked every door in the house but not sure if I can sleep peacefully for some time....the police wont take a complaint because she hasnt 'stolen', her visa is valid and she had her documents (if it was a case of 'abduction'...her valuables/passport/Emirates ID would not be missing)she left the house while my parents were sleeping in the morning....Hence, this is not a police case, but a case for immigration which can only be solved tomorrow morning.
Yorky...in response to your comment....I have not said anything wrong about the nanny except that she has run away and have warned ppl against illegal shelter...I have not given any gory details or defamed her as...infact I have been open to say she hasnt taken anything. There are no sides here. It is an unemotional warning and this forum is not about judging, its about sharing information that may help or prevent harm to others.
Your original post has gone, not sure if you or admin have deleted but I still stand by my original post that personal details should not be posted. If Admin don't allow it for friendly meet ups why should anyone else be allowed to post someone's name and passport number! I truely feel for you and wish you a speedy conclusion to your dilemma.

Are you sure she ran away? Perhaps she was abducted? It does happen. Or she could be prostituting herself for more cash. Better go to the police and let them deal with it.
Expat Woman is not the place to be posting peoples names and passport numbers. If you haven't done so already go to the police and file a report. If you have sponsored her legally she will not have time left on her visa as it will be cancelled immediately and as her sponsor you are obliged by law to report her missing. If you have concerns over the security of your home I would suggest calling a lock smith this evening and getting all locks changed to give you some peace of mind.
I'm sure you are shocked and upset by the actions of your nanny but you must follow the law to protect yourself and your family. Good luck

Actually in my opinion this is exactly where the OP should post it. There are loads of people looking for good nannies/housekeepers. Surely this is why we all use tis forum- recommend the good and steer clear of the not so good.
But we don't know the full details, not that I am doubting the OP but to post personal details in my opinion is not necessary. The correct way to deal with this is the police and immigration. EW do not allow members to post phone numbers or email addresses so why is it acceptable to post someone's name and passport number?

If she has not stolen anything or done harm, I think the best solution is to report to authorities instead of posting her information on the forum, "a coin has two sides", though sorry for that.
If you haven't done so yet, report it to the police and Immigration [u'>immediately[/u'>. If your ex-nanny gets caught doing a crime or working illegally, you may get in trouble since you are the sponsor.
Our maid ran away in 2013, and fortunately her passport was with us so it was easy for us to report to the authorities. In your case, since she has her passport, they may question you and the process might take longer.
Stay safe.
