Expat Basketball Tournamnet "Spirit of Nations", Muscat, Oman
Description
In 2006, PromoOman LLC organized the First Expat Basketball Tournament “Spirit of Nations-2006” at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex, which had a great success. Omani, Lebanese, USA, Philippines, South African and Japanese teams competed with each other. The winners were:

1. USA
2. Oman
3. Lebanon

The idea came from Mr. Ahmad Sabra, CEO PromoOman LLC, as basketball is his hobby since childhood, he was playing and coaching teams and organizing the tournaments in Lebanon.

In 2011, PromoOman LLC is also organizing the tournament with the support of the National Basketball Association of Oman.

Non-professional teams of different nationalities are invited to participate at the tournament and expecting more teams to attend the tournament this year. Each team consists of minimum 8 to maximum 12 players from one country of the age between 20-50 years old. Each team has one manager and one coach. Matches between Omani and Expat female teams are to be conducted at opening and closing, in this regard, all female non-professional basketball players are highly encouraged to participate.

Before the event, a press conference will be held, in which the representatives of the Ministry of Sports, Embassies presenter, teams and the sponsors launches the event and your presence in opening and closing ceremony is really appreciated.

The professional referees from the Basketball Federation of Oman will arbitrate the Tournament. The event will be fully covered by local media.

We believe that sports events work for integration of Omani and expat communities. This is social and sports communication between nations. Once again, we would like to mention that the event is not professional; it’s just for fun, just for bringing different nations together.
