Hi Beebers! Loooong time...nice to have you back... Back to your que, I have had it for the past 10 years (5+5) and both times (insertion and removal) have had no issues whatsoever, the process is somewhat painful but for me it was just those 5-10 minutes of discomfort all good thereafter. HTH

Had one, removed now as is no longer necessary. All in all happy with it. Insertion and removal wa ok, not painful in excess. Settles quickly and you hardly feel it. Is worth!!

I have one (fitted over 3 years ago before I moved here). I have absolutely no problem with mine and it makes my life easier. I didn't want to add any more hormones to my body so wanted to stop the contraceptive pill. I've noticed my time of the month being heavier than previously and I definitely underestimated how much it would hurt fitting it. I tried to go straight from my appointment to a client meeting and I was pouring with sweat because I felt so awful. Had to excuse myself and go home to bed. It settles fairly quickly though (about a couple of days in my case) but I'm certainly not looking forward to the point when it will need to be replaced. Overall it was worth it for me. I guess it's just a personal choice and make sure you ask the doctor about pros and cons so that you can weigh everything up based on your specific circumstances.
