Hallo

I am new to Dubai. I am married 3years and have been trying to get kids for one year now.

I have gone through a number of gynacologists in Dubai only to get to the end when they told me there is no other way to get children other than IVF- ICSI (male factor infertility)

My gyna recommended Conceive Clinic JLT.

I would appreciate any advice on which doctor to go for and how much it costs as well as the procedure.

I am also open to any other IVF clinics that you can suggest.

Any success stories through IVF would be very comforting ?

Also if there is a support group I would love to join to go through this in a foreign country alone is pretty lonely.

We used Conceive for IVF last year, it cost around 18,000dhs but that included freezing some of my eggs. Dr Pankaj is lovely, however extremely busy and tries to fit everyone in so be prepared to wait when you have appointments. The staff are very nice and go out of their way to help. I went to Fakih clinic before and did feel comfortable there or connect with the doctor but they seemed very professional and organised, plus they charge more than Conceive. Sadly, the IVF failed for us but we have my eggs frozen so will give it another go next month. My advise to you would be, try not to get too excited about it or get your hopes up, it really messes with your head, I got so convinced it would work and the 2wk wait from when they do the transfer is the worst....its all you can think about. Good Luck x

Hi, I too was in a similar position a couple of years ago and it can be very hard to know which decision is best. I don't know anything about conceive in JLT, we used a clinic in healthcare city. The procedure itself is relatively straightforward. This is what I went through... After meeting with the doctor and establishing dates, you will start on your hormone injections. After a few days of injections your will go for ultrasound every other day. Then after about two weeks of injections, they will do an egg collection. For this, they will take you to theatre and extract the eggs when you are asleep. On the same day, your husband will be asked to provide a sample. They may do this surgically depending on his count. They will let you know how many eggs before you leave. Then after about 3-5 days you return for the embryo transfer which is very very straightforward, no pain, nothing. In 14 days, you return for a blood test to see if you are pregnant. I think the cost for us from start to finish was AED35,000. This will vary for everyone because you pay for the drugs and the procedures as and when you need them. Some will need more or less than others! I wish you all the best. If I can help you with anymore information, please let me know. Hallo cruiseaddict Thank you so much for your reply. Which doctor did you use at healthcare city? And how many cycles did it take for you? Were you successful? I used Dr Wael and thought he was lovely. Dr Mohammad also comes highly recommended. We did two cycles - one unsuccessful, the other we lost at 8 weeks. this was heartbreaking, getting so far, but still not far enough! There are lots of success stories though so think positive in your approach! When are you thinking of starting treatment? Oooh ok. I wish to start later this year. I have seen good recommendations for Fakih and Conceive clinic. If you are still interested in trying again you could read up on them and we can exchange notes ?
