Birki, and the restaurant Tocino's in the Pineapple building is open the full day to have something to eat, coffee or lunch. What kind of restaurant is this? Is it nice and worth a visit?

Birki, In Silicon Oasis the Costa is open in Semmer Villa's for take away and you can sit inside. The Costa in the Pineapple Building is only open for take away and the restaurant Tocino's in the Pineapple building is open the full day to have something to eat, coffee or lunch.

Anyone know if Lime Tree Cafe is open? All their branches are closed except the Al Quoz one for take aways! The Lakes Club restaurant is serving all Ramadan, only inside though.

Dubai Mall Food court area (near cinema) Are you sure about this one ? I was there today, and after researches and asking to several shop attendants and information desks, they all said that all the food courts are take away only, and we didn't find any where we were allowed to eat on site. One also said that there is a cafe in Waitrose where we can eat in. Someone to confirm ? There are signs up on the tables in the food court opposite the cinemas at Dubai Mall that eating is not permitted until the call to prayer sounds-and they are enforcing it I have been to Waitrose many times and have never seen a cafe?! edited by Rebecca W on 04/08/2011

I work in DIFC and wouldn't bother coming here for the shops which are very limited. There is a Pinkberry though, which is definitely open! I think it's quite expensive to park though if you don't have a permit

DIFC has no shops, just expensive art galleries....near dubai mall though, so you could always have lunch here, and do your activities/shopping in dubai mall. best place for lunch with children in DIFC is probably More cafe

Julieanneb, you would be fine going to Mall of the Emirates as there are plenty of dining in options there during the day - Sezzam, Aspen etc. Dubai Mall could also be an option as whilst there are no dine in options open in the mall itself, Ember at The Address Dubai Mall hotel (which is attached to the mall) is open for lunch from 12pm-3.30pm. Fazaris at The Address Downtown Burj Dubai is also open for lunch 12pm-3.30pm. It's not attached to the Mall but is right next to it and a quick walk, even in the heat. There might also be something open at the Armani Hotel in Burj Khalifa. edited by Daza on 04/08/2011

I'm in Abu Dhabi and was planning on doing same day shopping trips to Dubai with DD 11 and DS 16 who are not young enough to be able to have a water/food in public - nor me either :( I've read though this post and noted DIFC - where is DIFC and what shops etc or should we just stay in Abu Dhabi til after Ramadan ? difc, is dubai international financial center, the shopping is pretty luxurious, and mostly outdoors, but it is close to dubaimall lie 2-5 min drive, not to bad, and difc has some beautiful art hangin' around. buuut its so hot to enjoy it all, in my opinion course. ps Julianne is my name too xx

Might be ok if your car windows are VERY tinted??? hehe but aren't the people with the VERY tinted windows (as they are only allowed to certain people) the ones supposed to be fasting?! It all just doesn't make sense! :) I did think that to myself after I had posted lol.

Does anyone know if Subway at Motorcity are still delivering during the day, or Burger King/Pizza Hut from the Ranches? Can't confirm for sure but Subway looked open when I drove past yesterday around 2.30pm so might be worth a shot. before Ramadan I asked. The guy wasn't sure but thought they;d be open around 3 for take out and delivery only. I saw a Facebook note saying NKD Pizza would be delivering from 10am - they deliver to Motor City Thanks, Subway are open for delivery during the day.
