Is anything open on The Palm, apart from the hotel outlets? I read somewhere Bidi Bondi was open to dine in ;)

seems the only place functioning as normal is DIFC, i work there and its business as usual, albeit behind curtains!! there are quite a lot of nice places actually, so if any of you fancy trying somewhere new, could be an option during the week!

Does anyone know if Subway at Motorcity are still delivering during the day, or Burger King/Pizza Hut from the Ranches? Can't confirm for sure but Subway looked open when I drove past yesterday around 2.30pm so might be worth a shot. before Ramadan I asked. The guy wasn't sure but thought they;d be open around 3 for take out and delivery only.

Just for clarification, I have been on the phone to DUBAI MALL and there is ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD OR DRINK PROVISIONS available..... Take away can be bought but NOT CONSUMED on the premises, or in your car. This is a government directive not the malls decision, All applications for licenses were REJECTED ! You are correct GN 30 July- "While DED had granted permission to some restaurants last Ramadan to allow them to serve food before iftar, such permission had not been extended to any establishments this year, Al Falasi said. "We did grant this permission to [a'> few restaurants last year after designing certain decoration in the restaurant that would cover the dining area but this didn't work. We received many applications from different restaurants in Dubai offering better decorations, but all have been disapproved," the official added. So it would seem that all outlets are following this directive and there will be no where to eat out during fasting hours inside of any Mall. http://gulfnews.com/business/retail/restaurants-urged-caution-while-serving-food-parcels-1.844818 edited by Di@DXB on 03/08/2011

Dubai Mall Food court area (near cinema) Are you sure about this one ? I was there today, and after researches and asking to several shop attendants and information desks, they all said that all the food courts are take away only, and we didn't find any where we were allowed to eat on site. One also said that there is a cafe in Waitrose where we can eat in. Someone to confirm ? mmm, interesting. No, I'm afraid I'm not sure - I based this on previous years - they've always had a huge curtain going across then partitions inside for the eating areas. A real shame if not - this is one area I'm afraid I do get very frustrated about in Ramdan

Yes, the Dubai issue has the same but it doesn't cover malls and I want to know where I can go with the children without having to go to a hotel!

Hi, I was at MOE this afternoon and can confirm that Sezzam is open and so is the Aspen Bakery, probably because they are linked to the Kempinski Hotel. Grt that's what's normally open in Ramadan I panicked there for a min :)
