found info for the wafi santa. Gonna head there early on the 2nd day I think, hopefully not so many people (keeping fingers crossed) http://www.expatechodubai.com/whats-on/wafis-santa-claus/ I'd love to go to Ski Dubai, that sounds very christmassy and perfect spot for santa :)

We went to Wafi last year. The line took FOREVER! It's a huge display though and it was kind of cool how they kept Santa hidden in a little house. It really built up the anticipation for the kids who were dying to see him. Made their time with him even more special. Not sure I want to wait in that line again though. Last year the Toys R Us at Times square had a little display for Santa with no line.

I loved the ski Dubai Santa last year, it is Mr and Mrs Claus, they are a senior couple and absolutely lovely, they looked so real I almost started to believe in Santa again. WHAT????[img'>http://www.smileys4me.com/getsmiley.php?show=2148[/img'>

If you go to the Ski Dubai facebook page and *LIKE* it then you'll get status updates with info on forthcoming Santa activities. Afew weeks before Christmas they have boards in the lobby with details of his visits. Love this time of year! :-)

Can you tell me a bit more info about the one at Ski Dubai? did you pay to go in? did you geta pix or a gift or just meet him, is there a q inside to meet him and can you remember what kind of times he was there? Thanx Most of the time they are inside Ski Dubai, so you do need to go in (pay regular entry). There is also breakfast with Santa at the restaurant right in front of it (forgot name) thats where we had pictures taken with Mr & Mrs Claus last year. I think it was around 200 for the 4 of us (2 adults 2 little kids, incl breakfast buffet, nothing fancy but not too shabby either). It's a gorgeous picture with Ski Dubai in the background, next to a nice tree, looks like it was taken in a cosy cold country somewhere in Europe!

I've been googling Xmas tree lighting ceremonies and the like but no results... if anyone's knows about Santa events please update, I will do so also. edited by Sanzeveria on 21/11/2011 Can you tell me a bit more info about the one at Ski Dubai? did you pay to go in? did you geta pix or a gift or just meet him, is there a q inside to meet him and can you remember what kind of times he was there? The Wafi santa is the best santa...just try and get there early (as in at opening time, or on a weekday to avoid the q's) Lil miss and friends really enjoy the winter wonderland at Madinat, however..i don't. The kempinsky hotel at the MoE and ski dubai normally have a santa as well, havent been to him for a few years so not sure if it's still a good option.

just a note re the Oasis Centre Santa (well of course there is only one Santa but he spreads himself around :D ) - it was kind of funny timings last year, like after 5pm only or something like that.

I think the "classic Dubai" one would be the Santa at Madinat where you take your photo with him and have Burj al Arab in the background :) I'm sure there will be a Santa in most of the malls, probably just waiting for National day to be over then they'll have it all set up.

WAFI santa is good but can be busy and queues horrible if trying to keep LOs entertained but will probably go back again this year. I think santa is also at the Chrstmas fayre at Madinat and also at Ski Dubai which might be nice.....havent been to either of these just working from memory of last year.

Yes, Wafi does a huge Christmas display every year and Santa is there. Plus the kids get a nice little gift too when they have their photo taken with him. Usually appears after National Day.
