Given circumstances - have kids settled in school here going back is not an option. Anyone know about Church marriages, except the Catholic Church? OH used to go to the Methodist Church back home - any here? He is going to check up but believes he was never baptised. Would anybody know if he can agree to be baptised now(!) and then get married here? I might have to drive up to Holy Trinity Church and check our options. Maybe you should just focus on a quickie wedding rather than the whole religious thing at this point.

We did exactly what Sandy dogg suggested below, (in the UK) you need to give 4 weeks notice to the registry office. We had a 30 min ceremony on xmas eve with just my immediate family and DH's best mate as a witness, we'll plan the 'big bash' once I've shed the baby weight. There really is a way round everything. Oh and the whole thing cost less than 3000 AED

Congratulations. Cyprus is a good option for quick marriage. Tell your company to 'stuff it' and tell them that the labour office will not like that at allllllll.......... enjoy.

If you want to keep it, stay here and keep your job could you ust have a quickie civil ceremony somewhere to cover the legalities and then have a 'proper' wedding at a later date when the time feels better? Congratulations, by the way ;)

Wishing you the very best....these things happen and obviously it's always difficult at first as the shock gets in the way of clear thinking. For my two pennorth...if you like it here and want to stay, then it sounds to me like getting married is the way to go. It might not be the wedding you;d have wanted but you can still make it lovely / special. Once you are married you can sponsor your husband and by then he might have another job. It's going to be a bureacratic merry go round, with lots of coming and going for a few months but a few years down the line that will all be forgotten. Sending you a hug!

Congratulations! That´s the first thing to say! and then....you´ll work it out. If you want to stay in Dubai you know you have to get married. How does your man feel about all this? You don´t say if he knows... He´s going back to his country for real?or is it a visa issue? You can´t have a Catholic wedding as you were once married this way. As for other churches, i don´t know if they marry couples who don´t belong to that religion? anyways, 2.5 months for the paperwork isn´t that long...you would be not even 4 months at the time. Work: it says in your contract you can´t get pregnant????

Congrats anyway, how ever it happened. Tough one to work out, I guess leaving and getting married looks the best option but then i guess you lose the job here. Can you not stay in one of your home countrys?

Your choices are limited to leaving and getting married asap or abortion.
