Met DH at work on a business trip. I worked in the Jordan branch and was the Geek sent over to talk to the other Geek, as no one else understood what we were talking about... fell in love over a spreadsheet, and the rest is history so to speak. ;) We've been married five years now and have two gorgeous DD's; and in two months time we're off to Singapore to start the new leg of our adventures together! :D

Another one for Longs Bar here! Almost 7 years ago now and been married for 9 months. :) Longs bar used to have the best crowd at that time. I'll take that as a compliment Khatoon, I was managing the place at the time :D Which place are you managing now, so I can plan my week end?

Met myOH at Bar Zar while here on a girls holiday. Spent a couple of blissful days together and then went back home to Australia. Tried a long distance relationship but missed each other too much (and phone bills too high!) so moved to Dubai 8 weeks later. Some thought we were moving a little fast but I said when you know you know! good thing I was right as we are now married :)

the OH and I met my first weekend in Dubai at a housewarming (through a friend I knew from back home), we saw each other quite often at bbq's and at the beach, but never really had a conversation until one partying night at Barnasti that I gathered the guts to actually have a proper conversation with him.... we have been inseperable since (going on just over 2 years now). Best advice would be to meet someone through friends, as you can snoop around a bit to get info on the guy (just to check if he is worth the effort ;) , everyone I know who met their oh here and managed to make a lasting relationship met through friends, the bar pick-ups never last (in my opinion). Your story is similar to mine :) Met DH during my first weekend in Dubai when my colleague forced me to join him at some birthday dinner so I could make friends. It was DH's birthday and we barely exchanged a couple of words... he seemed to like me though, added me on FB the next day and then we kept bumping into each other at other dos and I noticed how he always went out of his way to make sure I was okay, had something to eat, people to talk to... 2 years later, he proposed on his birthday at the same restaurant we first met :)

Got my shoe caught in a hijacked golf buggy on way back from dinner at the world cup, he helped me free it and helpme get away before getting apprehended. Both called sick for work the next day and had an awesome date. Married with 1 bub 7 years later.

We were neighboors, partied at the same clubs and went to the same gym but had never bumped into each other. Instead we met on Facebook. Exchanged long messages every day for 2 weeks, i was very sceptical but he finally convinced me to go on a date. I was panicking because i heard of some scary stories about internet dating and all that... I also didn`t believe that interracial relationships will ever work out and was at a stage of my life when i didn`t want another boyfriend, i wanted a husband... Anyway, we started to see each other every day, 8 months later went to Thailand and there on New Years Eve he gave me the ring:) Five months later we got married:)

After plenty of man related drama in Dubai, I moved to AD and met my new man at work, at a time when I was sworn off men and focusing on my careeer, studying and having fun, so it was clearly fate!! I honestly didn't think such nice guys existed in this country (or anywhere for that matter!!) and nearly a year on and 6 months of an official 'relationship' and so far so good, so hope it stays that way.
