DC, massive, humungous congrats! I read the 7days this morning and just stared and stared at your beautiful girl, she is amazing :) Didn't know she was yours at the time though! And just so everybody knows, AP has been the most amazing help these past few days and weeks and throughout pregnancy #2 and I can't wait to return the favour next year. But I still haven't managed to lay my hands on a copy of 7Days so I can see my famous little lady!

big congrats DC, and I hope that she is back with you by now (and congrats, you made it to the front page of 7days!!) so did the little princess... the UAE baby ;) see how perfect she is. Just adorable and soooooooooooooo tiny!!! I got snuggles yesterday and it was just beautiful. Reality hit home though that DC now has 2 and I'm only a few months behind her before our next LO is born and ... awww such an emotional moment. She is just sooooo sooo perfect. Can't wait to get shopping to spoil her. All the while her big brother was so very good to her yesterday but I am waiting for the antics of when he and my DS get together, I feel very sorry for little Elin! She's got a tough mob to grow up with. tee he he he. Congrats my wonderful friend. Am so proud of you and she is just perfect. and I'm getting all soppy writing this so its time to go. xox

DubaiCat, three months ago my newborn also had to be admitted to NICU and blood tests taken regularly from the bottoms of her tiny little feet. It's awful, but of course mainly for the mum! Try to focus on the fact that glucose levels, whilst important is not a problem more difficult to treat. Big hugs and I hope she's back with you soon.

Big, giant, reassuring hugs DC. xxx I've had two of mine in NICU within 24 hrs of birth. It's stressful and emotional...but she's in excellent hands. Once she's settled, you'll be able to spend lots of time with her. Assuming all else is well, hold her lots and get as much skin-to-skin as you can. You'll master sleeping upright in some hideously uncomfortable chair. ;) (Maybe ask if they have a breastfeeding chair available for the two of you to snuggle in? Lots of love from across the miles.

She will be back and you will hold her soon. So it is important that you do not panic because you need your energies and she will need them too... sooner than you realize! I really mean it. Try to rest, and to concentrate on when you will have her in your arms again, maybe she will feel your " telepathic hug".

She has just been taken to SCBU as her blood glucose levels are far too low :(. The paediatrician has been very reassuring but I hate that they're going to put a tube in her tiny little hand and I can't be there to hold her :( and of course I'm panicking ridiculously even though they have been so reassuring :(.

Here's hoping we can get some rest over the next few days before we go home as a family of four and I try to get myself to the point where I can actually leave the house again! Yes! Rest rest rest and enjoy your new little one. Don't feel under any pressure to get to that point...it will come when *you* are ready. Hopefully breastfeeding is going really well, but do ask to see Samira (IBCLC) for reassurance or help with breastfeeding, and give me a call to chat about feeding if you want to! 050-4705577 after 5:30pm. Thank you all :). My BP was still high last night and I ended up with a load of protein in my urine again, so the decision was made to deliver this morning. And it was the weirdest experience of my life! Totally different to when DS was born last year in every way. Elin is fast asleep next to me at the moment and I can't stop staring at her. While I couldn't imagine this baby being a boy, I can't believe I have a daughter! It's just lovely :). DS came in to see his little sister at lunchtime and seemed genuinely pleased! He was interested in her, waved at her and pointed and it was so nice to see. And he didn't try to smack her one or lob things into the bassinet, which was a bonus :D. Here's hoping we can get some rest over the next few days before we go home as a family of four and I try to get myself to the point where I can actually leave the house again!
