Arent hot irons bad for the hair. Im too scared to my hair falling. Pls advise if you have experienced hair fall with the straighteners. If you use the GHD everyday and glide over your hair too many times then yep, you will damage it. But that is not how you are supposed to use it. You only need to glide over your hair once (twice if you have very curly hair). And ALWAYS use a heat protect spray. I GHD my hair quite often and my hair is in very good condition. But, I also don't colour my hair which could make a difference

I have had my GHD straightener for nearly 9 years now and it is still going strong! And I use it a lot! In my opinion it does get very hot though. I haven't used any other straightener (except for Remington which is a cheap straightener and not good at all...), so I guess I am a little biased haha! My hair type is fine but I have a lot of hair, and it is wavy. I don't know how well it works on full on curly hair. Hope that helps :)

It actually has ceramic heaters, not iron. I love my GHDs ( been using them for 3 years) and find the results much better than a blow-dry. <em>edited by Gentle on 14/01/2014</em>

I just got a glowing recommendation for Jose Eber hair straighteners from my friend, who tried many. Amazon reviewers agree that Jose Eber straighteners gets VERY hot.

So….. which ones are better Cloud Nine or GHD's. I've had GHD's for years, I don't think its as hot as it should be. I want to purchase a new one but don't know which one to go for…… GHD have really marketed themselves well when they first launched so its so difficult for me to go to another brand. Advice please.

Has any1 used this 00000 post code and ordered items online ?? And is it 5 zeros or 4. Am quiet sacred to you is. What if my hair straightener never gets to me through the delivery. Its you PO Box number that is important not the post code. You can type whatever you want in the postal code section. It doesnt matter as long as Dubai,UAE is in there. Lol!

Hi,glowkat I wanted to order a ghd too from their official website. But the only problem am facing is what post code to put in for Dubai. Can you tell me how you filled that part out As I don't have a clue. Help please!!! For all online orders just put 00000 (five zeros). Dubai does not have post code so this works fine.

Hi ladies I just bought a new GHD straightener (to replace my old set that just died) from their official website in the UK. I completed a survey afterwards and they gave me a 10% discount offer for any other purchases, valid for 90 days. Given that this is the second time in 7 years I've bought anything from GHD I figure I'll have no need for this discount In the next 90 days so if anyone wants the code, drop me a line at [email protected]. Cheers, Kat

I'm pretty sure Chelsey Adams is spamming for this iron she has promoted on at least 5 other threads 700 DHS look like expensive did you try corioliss C1 hair straightener? Corioiliss is UK brand and its cheap then GHD in price, Corioliss c1 price is only 450 DHS and its available in Dubai and with free shipping as well. Almost same feature so why need to pay more? Also, I use the Babyliss Pro straightening iron I bought from Nazih salon supplies on Shk Z Road for around AED 400 and I LOVE IT, way more than my GHD and Sedu irons. I am a straightening iron freak and couldnt be happier with this, you can check other reviews online for it.

thank you for all your suggestions, i did eventually buy the cloud nines but although they are nice, i am missing the original ghd's as they seem to work better for me... :( Too be honest, I thought this at first, spoke to Sharon at Salon Ink and I hadn't be using them at the right temperature. Make sure they are on full heat power to use if you have just washed your hair and lower temp about 150 for hair that is less fresh! Hopefully that will help.

I have very fine long hair and GHD were the only ones that i could actually use that straightened my hair easily.. and didnt leave static . My hairdressers uses cloud nines and she literally has to run them over my hair once and it is bone straight. I have used babyliss tony and guy ones GHD's ( Darling neice will inherit these and how happy she will be) My Cloud Nines are wider plates with temp control and using them this morning took me 5 minutes instead of 15 with my GHD's. Hope this helps Oh! I have long hair, hence why I use the wide GHD's. Which hairdressers is it that uses Cloud nine, I might pay a visit to try it. :D <em>edited by Diamante on 04/08/2011</em>

Sorry to hijack this thread... NewbieDoha ... I'd be willing to swap my regular GHD straightener for your larger salon styler.. I have long thick frizzy hair and made the mistake of not buying the salon styler with the larger plates. Ordered mine from the UK and can verify authenticity if you're interested. I've hardly used it as I couldn't be bothered to put in double the time. Thanks.
