I am currently looking for a new Dr as I am not happy with my current Gynea and the hospital she delivers in. I have been recommended to use Dr Ibrahim, but am curious about Dr Taylor, what are her consultation fees and can I purchase the City packages and still use her as the Gynea?

I am followed by dr. George Michailidis who now delivers at City Hospital (but is based at n9ne medical). I have not delivered yet, but went through a D&C (after missed miscarriage) and a CVS with him so far, and had none of the problems often reported during/after such procedures, receiving also a very good "psychological" support from him. My husband and I actually think he is an excellent doctor and would recommend him for any pregnancy at risk. I am delivering next week through c-section (my stubborn choice, he was not pressing me in this direction at all). edited by GattaMatta on 10/11/2011 i'm with dr sant @ primavera medical clinic - love, love, love her and she's totally pro natural birth. however, i cannot sing dr george's praises enough. he's helped us through a very difficult time, and is simply an amazing man. good luck with your delivery next week x I also love Dr. Rosalie Sant @ Primavera! Was with a different doctor through City directly but didn't feel confident with her. I changed to Dr. Sant and felt so comfortable with her & confident in her abilities. We had planned a natural birth but ended up having to have an emergency C-section. So glad I had gone with Dr. Sant, completely trusted her and everything turned out wonderfully. Good luck!

She definitely does do C-sections - she did mine two weeks ago :). Oh congrats on your baby! How are you feeling? Thanks :). Recovery-wise, great - it's been so much easier than I expected! edited by DubaiCat on 16/11/2011

Pixie, I believe Dr Elsa does a very good c-section (I hope so as I have one scheduled in 2 weeks!). Freckly, that sounds like a good idea. If you are on her books as a gyne patient then you should be able to get an apt when you are pregnant easily. Good luck!!!! - I will send you baby dust (I have lots and lots;) edited by Tru Blu on 15/11/2011

Dr Elsa, shes well worth waiting for. I've incredible things about her so I am willing to wait for a good doctor :) I heard Dr. Elsa is very good, but does she do c-sections? Is she very busy? I also wonder if they accept late pregnancies. edited by Pixie2011 on 14/11/2011

I know this thread about City Hospital, but I wonder which one is better? Welcare or City? I am also picking a hospital to deliver. So far I have an appointment in Welcare. I have heard that City Hospital is very good as well. I am going to have a c-section (sure thing 100%) and I wonder which one would you choose? It is my third one. My first two were born in the US. Delivering here would be a different experience. I already asked about Welcare and many people had positive reviews. I am looking into City Hospital as well... edited by Pixie2011 on 14/11/2011

I called recently to get an appointment with Dr. Elsa and she's booked until FEB!!!! Will have to go with someone else for the interim *sigh* Don't worry about this. I know it's frustrating but as soon as you've seen her and you're officially a patient of hers, it'll be a lot easier to get appointments.

Hi Katie, I am with Dr. Helena Taylor and her clinic is right across from City Hospital and she delivers there. Dr. Elsa is VERY busy and I wasn't able to get an appointment with her so I chose Dr. Taylor. I'm very happy with the clinic, so far Dr. Taylor has always been on time with our appointments and she's very caring and takes her time. Always chats with my DH about rugby and last time we discussed plans for Christmas. Just a lovely Doctor, I never feel rushed. She always reminds me to enjoy being pregnant and is also supportive of a natural birth.

Absolutely Dr Elsa. She delivered DS naturally last year, and did everything she could to ensure we could have a natural delivery even though we had to have him at 37 weeks due to pre-eclampsia. She also did everything she could to ensure I was making an informed decision about whether to deliver naturally or by C-section with DD, born last week. In the end we didn't have much of a choice but I'd say she was very pro-natural every time we discussed it. If you can't get an appointment with her as soon as you'd like, you can always have your first few appointments with a community-based doctor and then take all your notes and scans to her as soon as you can get in to see her.

I am with Dr Elsa at City. I am due to deliver twins there in a few weeks time. As with Shellly, I am very happy with her - but as stated below, you may have trouble getting an apt. I couldn't get one until I was 20+ weeks so I saw another Dr in the interim.

I'm also with Dr. George Michailidis and so far he has been great. He's UK trained so very supportive of your choices and so far has never pushed me down the c-s route (unlike the other obgyns I saw earlier in my pregnancy)

Hi Katie Congrats! I delivered with Dr Braithwaite at American Hospital last year and she is very pro natural birth. She is UK educated and worked at the Royal Free. I felt completely in safe hands and will be seeing her again shortly for the next one. If you do not have your heart set on City, then maybe she would be a good choice for you.

Hi KatieW1, I can highly recommend Dr Ibrahim at City hospital. Have been with him for my whole pregnancy and am very happy with him. He is pro natural birth. Can't comment on the actual delivery with him as not quite at that point (have a couple of weeks to go) but have every confidence in him. I do know that he too is very busy at the moment and totally boked up with new patients (not quite as popular as Dr Elsa though) so it could be tough for you to get an appointment very soon. Good luck finding someone :)

Dr Elsa comes very highly recommended! She was my ob/gyn and she is simply amazing. She is extremely PRO natural birth. She is so popular though that you may have trouble getting an appt with her, but really try as she is a brilliant ob/gyn! All the best!

Hi, I have an 8 month old and recently found out I am pregnant with number 2 (gulp). Anyway, I gave birth to my first in the UK with hardly any intervention or drugs. Can anyone recommend an OBGYN to me that delivers at City? I have heard that doctors out here are quicker to give sections? Is that true? I really want someone I can trust to allow me to have another natural birth (where this is the safest medical option for me and baby). Thanks!
