I also had it really bad and lost 7 kg. things that helped me were icy things, so homemade Popsicles made from ginger ale and crystallized ginger to suck on when at work. I could not eat anything. Later on all that I could manage was mashed potato.

I'm found that the things you think will help like chocolate and carbs, definitely do not help! Tangy things seem to help the morning sickness a lot. So tangy sweets to suck on. Salt and Vinegar crisps, anything with chilli in it. Sweet and Sour chicken really helped too. Also grapes and kiwi fruit etc. Anything citrus. You will feel like they are the last things you actually want to eat, and then once you've eaten them, you actually feel a little better. Hope that helps.

I used ginger ale, saltines, and preggie pops. I think I found the preggie pops from blush and bloom. Any hard sweet or sour candy would probably work. I found that mine went away by the 14th week. Hope you feel better soon!

feel so sorry for you....i had nausea during whole pregnancy. didn't used to puke but any smell of food used to put me off. i tried several thing and only thing that did relaxed me was mint tea or even just mint leaves (chewing) i still can't eat eggs and chocolate (which were fav before but developed an aversion to these during pregnancy). i tried crackers before getting out of bed but nothing could help me! my docotr suggested just boil few mint leaves and drink that. it really helped me although i used to add sugar too. whole day used to go by eating 1 grape at a time slowly...slowly :) (the green one, which are sour) i lost weight in first trimester but started gaining after 5 month and gained a whopping 22 kg till 9 month!! i remember i could not eat anything cooked by myself but if somebody else cooked then i was able to eat little.feel better soon. normally it goes away after first trimester. doctor prescribed navidoxine too but i ate it for 2 days and after no change stopped eating it. hope you

I had it quite bad as well. First 3 weeks of all day sickness and only being able to drink 7up and not really eat anything, then after that throwing up virtually every morning almost til the end of my pregnancy. I chose not to take meds as after I'd throw up I'd be reasonably fine for the rest of the day. Nothing really worked for me, but there are a few things you can try. Some women prefer 'hot' things such as ginger, whereas others feel better with 'cool' things such a mint and lemon. Try eating something like a biscuit while you are still lying down in bed and keep eating small bit throughout the day. There is homeopathic medicine called Nux Vomica that can help as well. Good luck, many women find that once they reach week 12-14 it all goes away!

Oh dear...poor you... it seems just yesterday I was puking my guts out the entire day...at home, at work, during my work drive....barf bags were my best mates! I was prescribed pills for sickness...but at times those also never worked and used to barf away. However, it's good sign for sure as it showed hormones were raging a healthy war. One thing that helped me was to never keep my stomach empty...just nibble on fruits or crackers, or dry toast was a life saver...I used to get up in the middle of the night with waves of nausea and grab a dry toast....Perrier water kept me going thru and thru... Pls drink loads of fluids and rest easy baby is well cushioned. I have a bonny baby boy all of 4 months a happy proof....

It's such a horrible, horrible thing and unless someone has been through it they don't understand! I was sick every 4 hours for 9 months - what helped me a bit was - the travel sickness bands from the pharmacy that you wear on your wrist - fizzy drinks, coke, 7up - salty crisps (all very healthy lol) - chewing gum - gingery things, ginger ale, ginger biscuits - don't wait for meal times, just eat a little constantly - have little snacks/biscuits with you all the time. sorry for you, I hope it passes at 12 weeks, i know it seems like so far away now but it will be here soon. :( xx

Toast and Lucozade was my saving grace! Raw ginger helps too. I chewed on pieces first thing in the morning!

There are two meds suggested for pregnant women w/ nausea, both are available w/o prescription: pirempram and Navidoxine. My grandmother recommends sucking on lime quarters.

Hi, as I had very bad experience with morning, actually all day and night sickness I can tell you your baby is safe, actually my doctor said that the baby couldn't be safer, as the sickness is a symptom your body is producing a lot of pregnancy hormones... not sure, as I felt awful for months, lost almost 10 kg during my first pregnancy and had to stay in the hospital for weeks, but my case was extreme. You need to keep yourself hydrated all the time, as it is not unlikely that you get dehydrated due to throw up too much. Find something that tastes nice, whatever it is and eat this all the time, I spent more than a week eating only lemon ice cream and my two babies (had it during both pregnancies) were born very healthy. Only observe your body and look for help if you feel it is out of control. I used to feel dizzy all the time and wasn't able to drink or eat almost anything. Hang in there, it will pass!

You can ask your doctor for some tablets. There are more than one you can safely take. The first one she prescibed made me extemely moody. The second prescription made it a bit more bearable at work. I was on tomatoes and mozzarella for the first 4 months. Good luck!!

Sorry you are feeling sick. I know the feeling. You know I read once to eat something with ginger flavor such as crackers or something. But to be honest with you, none of that worked for me while I was pregnant. The one thing that worked was apples! I don't know what it was, but once I was so sick that out of desperation my husband bought me bags of cut apples. It worked wonders for me. The sickness won't affect your baby as far as I know. The baby is still small. Actually, many women loose weight during morning sickness. Just make sure you drink plenty of water (I could only drink sparking) and take your vitamins. However, if your morning sickness is out of control, there are some pills the Doctors can give you. But those made me even more tired so I dropped it. Best of luck. Rest a lot. It's all part of the plan! hugs! Thanks Akia... just hating the feeling... try to sleep as much as possible.... but tough to be at work and feel sick.. people have already started questioning me if im expecting.. really dont wish to share till 12weeks... i have been trying to have fruits as it helps than normal food... thanks... and hope to get over this feeling sooonnn
