Anyone been lately with kids, specifically toddlers & if so where?
Doesn't have to be too fancy, just child-appealing pools/beach & decent accom/restos…
Ideally we'de prefer all inclusive or half board, but doesn't have to be...

Sharm is in my opinion much better that Tunisia and caters better for kids. But like has already been said, it's a but f a risk at the moment. How about Turkey?

Due to the political situation in Egypt, specially at the Sinai I would avoid to travel to Sharm el Sheikh. By the way the Hilton Shark Bay got closed down recently because a British lady got raped of a hotel employee. We just came back of a nile cruise and it was lovely and very quite/safe. My Arabic husband was keen to go to Sharm but at the moment i would go there even when the vacation would be for free.

Thanks so much!!! I didn't even think the beaches would be rocky, that would be very disappointing! Will keep your ideas in mind...

Well I've been to Sharm so many times but I wasn't a mother yet but I can tell u this: I love the beach at the Hilton neama bay or movenpick and both hotels r very central so close to the shops and restaurants. Intercontinental has a very bad rocky beach and savoy too Fourseaons is lovely but the beach is tiny but great food and excellent service Most of the hotels have lovely pools. There's a water park or (hotel with water park) in Sharm tht opened recently which will b fun for the kids. Tarasina is a great place to swim. Take a boat ride to one of the islands and spend the day. I love Sharm it's so alive and busy! I haven't been in so many years and there r so many new hotels, try to pick a hotel tht has a good beach cos some of them r too rocky and it wouldn't b fun for kids. Hope this was useful :)

Worth checking out trip advisor to read the many hotel/resort reviews and the Sharm and Tunisia forums. ForTunisia I suggest you look at the resort of Port El Kantaoui.
