Does anyone know where the fish restaurant is, near a small local marina that opens up every evening and sells fresh, local caught fish? Any idea what tome they are open?

I have visitors here and it sounds like fun, as well as being quirky.

Thank you very much, we went last night and it was delicious. I Don't think AED 150 for 3 of us for fish and crispy prawns was cheap, but it was delicious. Yes, it was busy but we only had to wait about 20 mins, so the same as a 5 star restaurant really. I'd highly recommend it for someone who's done most other experiences in Dubai.

I love it there - have eaten there lots and taken away too...the fish is just amazing even better than most restaurants!!! best to get there before 7pm orders start I think around 7.30pm...well worth the wait for the food.

That's right. We've been to Bu Qtair a couple of times. I believe its open daily til midnight and the personally, I think the price is affordable. The (really) big fish, that' generally good for two people was only for AED65 and the small sherry life ones (but bigger) are around AED15. i think ur talking about the restaurant 'Bu Qtair Cafetaria' they are located next to the umm suqeim public library... if you googlemaps 'Bu Qtair Jumeirah Dubai' you will get the exact location. but be warned... they get VERY busy (especially on weekends and once you place your order you usually have to wait for an hour before they serve you!) the fish & prawns aren't 'cheap' as before... and they tend to price differently for different nationalities! so keep that in mind! it's basically a little port-a-cabin where all the cooking gets done and the food is served on plastic tables/chairs just outside it... the ambience sucks but food's good... you get the feeling like you're eating somewhere on a beach in coastal india! so if you're going go for the food and not the environment (though you do eat with a view of the gorgeous Burj Al Arab)
