I don't have a problem with the system. What irks me is that in my case they were refusing a suspected appendix case which was pretty complicated.Tried every trick in the book to block the surgery till the doctor at the other hospital put his foot down and wrote a report. Now in my son's case, his adenoids are enlarged, infected and causing him to breathe by mouth. They have refused the case that it is not medically necesaary.I was horrified when the Peds doctor that they sent me too...potrayed a wrong picture of my sons xray(Mednet guys had already spoken to him on the phone). The doctor's behaviour was not welcoming. He did not realize that being an Architect I can decipher 3d images...so reading an xray is no huge deal for me.He lied that there is sufficent air passgage in his nasal cavity. The ENT doctor that I went to was horrified at the findings. I am extremely disappointed that the medical comunity here behaves in such an unethical manner. No mother would want to put her son through any surgery..its terrifying even if its for adenoids.Something which the insurance guys don't understand. For an ENT issue the insurance sent to a Peds doctor.By the way please dont ever take your child to Dr.Cyris at AL Ghurair...for infected adnoids hes diagnosing my son as having nasal allergy..

We've had no problems with MedNet. It's very like the system we had in the USA. I've had knee replacement surgery and was surprised that they waited till the last minute to tell me I needed a second opinion. However, they arranged one with a doctor not too far from where we live. I went and was approved immediately. No problem. We had to claim some prepaid physical therapy charges. My husband took in all the receipts with MedNet's paperwork and turned them in to HR. We received payment about 6 weeks later. (I don't know how quickly my husband turned them in once he took them to work so can't be for sure it was 6 weeks.) lol

I would not recommend them to anyone....had two run inns with them, surgery cases and they have been horrific.Even to the extent of asking me to seek a second opinion from one single doctor recommended by them(NO OTHER DOC IN THE ENTIRE EMIRATE).The surgery would only be approved IF THAT PARTICULAR DOCTOR APPROVED THE CASE!!For an ENT issue they send me to a Peds doctor....go ahead and guess why??????

I had insurance with them last yr.I guess it was the platinum plan, not sure though. They covered everythn n didn't question at all,as I had two d&c procedures last year. But at the time of renewal, they increased the premium by more than 65% and even changed the terms of contract,so we discontinued it with them,as it was turning out to be very expensive. edited by buzzbee on 28/06/2011

we used to be with them and had less problems then with our current provider. We had the highest level of cover though so maybe that was why.... Mine is Gold, but don't know if that's the highest?

They will find any slightest excuse not to pay out, but that could be the case with all providers.
