Hi there... I want to enroll my DD into a nursery and this is the closest to our home. However I don't know anyone who has tried it before, so grateful if anyone has any feedback.
TIA

Yes, Chubby Cheeks Nursery in Jebel Ali is well-regarded. It offers a nurturing environment with engaging activities and follows the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) curriculum. Many parents highlight its friendly staff and diverse programs. However, it's recommended to visit the nursery, meet the teachers, and discuss your child's needs to ensure it’s the right fit.

I haven't used Chubby Cheeks nursery, but you might find reviews from other parents helpful. Hope you get some feedback soon.

I have been utilizing this nursery for my two children for an extended period. Their professionalism in caring for children is commendable. They offer all the amenities that I, as a mother, would desire for my kids in a nursery setting. I highly recommend them, as I have never encountered any problems.

Hi there, I am back on this thread after a long time... and would like to share my experience as DS has completed one term. I know each parent/child will have a different experience. For me I am very happy with my choice of nursery. Every morning my son is sooo happy to go to school, in fact he gets upset on Fridays and Sats. He loves his teacher and and has made some good friends. As a parent I enjoy watching his pics on the facebook page and look forward to the exciting activities that they plan. I am also happy with the way my son is cared for - he was not eating his tiffin for some time at the start of the term - but no issues at all now.

We shifted our DS to this nursery starting this term from a reputed nursery simply because it is next door and saves him half hour on the bus each way. The nursery has become extremely popular mainly due to its location as it is the only one in the complex and would cater to both Discovery and The gardens. Comparing with the earlier nursery my son was in I would say it has a long way to go. Yes the place is nice and big and the activities are good as well. But then there are issues with the way they deal with disciplinatory actions. For example there was a child biting the other kids in school and the incident was denied until 2-3 parents came togather and complained about the same thing. On 3-4 occassions DS came home without having his nappy changed and developed a rash. The only thing we got from the owner and teacher that it would not happen again. A few other small things like DS would come home with spoons missing from his snack box, clothes get sent to other kids inspite of all labels being in place. Also I feel they need to develop practices which focuses on the overal development of kids like putting their own shoes, putting things back into place etc.. a bit of discipline. I have kids of 4 friends going here and we all feel that the kids have picked up the habit of 'picking their nose' from nursery. If you look at the kids on the bus most kids seem to be doing it.. So i feel a bit of effort is needed in such practices which I believe comes with experience and age of the nursery since I never had a single issue with our earlier nursery.

hi majoe, i am a new parent, my 2yr old boy had his 1st day today. i was surprised to see the school is so popular and all old parents had good things to say. my boy cried as it was his first day at nursery:-( i hope he settles soon and begins to enjoy the various activities they offer. will keep you posted hmmmm when you say "old parents" what do you mean parents returning with their younger children or "old" as in age wise old? Reason why I ask is because I "passed"by today to check it out, and I was told by the extremely young "head teacher" that the nursery is newly opened....so I just wondered, as it would be nice to her the opinions of other parents. Also it didn't look very new IMHO..... ETA unless of course it's been taken over by new owner....which then I'd understand where the "old parent" was coming from :) lol Plus, I just walked in, door was open & no-one was in reception, it was after 2pm so most the children had left, but still.....I walked right down their corridor to find someone that could help me.....that bit doesn't sit too comfortably with me.... edited by coco pops on 09/10/2011 edited by coco pops on 09/10/2011

funny how all 'not-so-good' reviews are treated so seriously and any good comments are considered as adverts. I think what is a good nursery for my child may not be the best for another parent. I chose my child's nursery after visiting 7 others, you are rite mummy26 - parents ought to see the place and teachers for themselves It's just that user names with low posts - that oddly, invariably end in numbers - are almost always advertisers. Especially when they only post about one topic or on one thread.

i agree.. there does seem something suspicious about their promotion. However, ive read mixed reviews. i suppose one would have to see the place and the teachers for themselves. Personally for me the aggressive advertising steered me away as i felt the institute was more about being financially successful as opposed to being a really good nursery that offered something new and focused on the kids. I did however like Kids Worl in Jlt. Its small and more personal i felt. I really liked the vibe there, but my baby was too young. They are not a nursery i was told, but a creative learning center (preschool basically).

Sorry for the delayed reply, I was offline for awhile! I agree, a few posts/posters on EW are a bit over the top on CC praise... a bit suspicious. I have decided not to send DD yet, maybe next term. Thanks for all the responses.

Hi Queen123. I beleive that nurseries rely more on word of mouth than advertising. That is how i got to know about Chubby cheeks. And i have already recommended to my friends with young children. edited by suzie143 on 26/09/2011

Hi Majoe, I have used the nursery for my child and have only good things to say - see other posts as well. you can catch a glimpse of happy faces and the activities they do on their facebook page. Of course its new and had initial glitches but as long as my baby is happy and learning - I am happy. Re the comments bout the sales tactics - surprisingly i have always felt that the nursery needs to revamp their marketing strategy. they arent aggresive enough. Its a large nursery in a prime location, def one of the best on this side of dubai and many parents still dont know about them???

I don't know anything about the nursery but I have to say I didn't like the strange sales pitch that I got at the Jebel Ali play group from one of the owner/managers. She was kind of masquerading as a helper and didn't come clean about who she was for ages. Kept asking me leading questions about my childcare arrangements and telling me about a fantastic new local nursery, that kind of thing. Weird. That's what someone on EW did too. Some poster just kept on posting about how great the CC nursery was.

Over the summer I was bombarded with text messages and two phone calls in two days about this nursery and Toys for Rent. I had no idea where they got my mobile number until the sales lady said that someone from the Jebel Ali playgroup had passed it on, which I thought was unethical. What was the leader's name or is she still there?

hi majoe, today was much better:-)) cant wait to see whats he doing when i go to pick him up. he likes the indoor play area - really good thing to have in dubai weather. i hope he likes the classroom too. and yes the teachers were wonderful, smiling and very patient - i am sure nursery teacher is not the easiest job in the world. something wonderful they did on the first day - the gave us a pack containing a teabag, kleenex and a cotton ball and a letter saying something like .. we know you are anxious on ur first day, but wipe your tear, go home make yourself a cup of tea and dont worry as we will take best care... so touching - i will save this forever

If you do a quick search on here for 'chubby cheeks' there are a few threads that may help, seems to have good reviews on the few I glanced at.
