My fav place for brunch is Al marooj, such a lovely day outside with mates, food is good, i think for 199 its a great deal, then head down stairs for a boogie and burn some calories away.
Reporting in post brunch yesterday at the Grand Grill, Habtoor Grand.
We had a brilliant time (12 of us), the service was absolutely faultless, our glasses were never allowed to be less than half full, and the selection of drinks was good (pink sparkling, normal sparkling, decent Sth African red or white wine, beers, cider and spirits).
The food was just ok although plentiful. It just KEPT coming & I liked the fact you didnt actually have to leave the table as all the meat was served! Our vegi mate was looked after with a vegi lasagne which I thought was a nice touch.
The birthday song by the staff was brilliant .... happy birthday that then turned into african drumming and song, together with a personal size pudding and happy birthday message on the plate - nice :-)
Price wise I thought it good value ...... except my rather drunken DH insisted on picking up the bill for the whole table!!! (he didnt think it quite so clever this morning when he found the receipt!! - lol). Bless him :-)
A good day indeed and would recommend. I wouldn't however recommend the hang over I have today ......but hey, you only turn 40 once eh!! :-)

Phewwwy!! Thank crunchie EW is back on line - I was beside myself last night!!! :-)
Big day not until the 10th Feb (I do like to plan ahead :-), but despite all the great recommendations below we've plumped for the Grand Grill @ Habtoor Grand Hotel. We went there on a spur of the moment dinner a few weeks back and as huge meat lovers we enjoyed it immensely. The brunch is within price range, is central for our guests and they have a DJ which will give it a party atmosphere (we hope!). Looking forward to it!
But thanks for all your suggestions - have made a list and will work our way through all of them over the coming year (can't brunch tooo often, it obliterates the weekend!).
Just on a side point - we brunched at Anise at Festival City's Intercontinental last week - live band which were pretty mediocre but got better as the afternoon wore on (not that that had anything to do with the amount of alcohol consumed of course ;-), continous top up of fizz, excellent food selection where they cook to order and bring to your table along with the usual buffet fare ...... I think it came in around 300 DHS which we thought was pretty good value. Would recommend!
BFN - will report back re Grand Grill brunch once done :-)

I second (or third) Saffron at Atlantis. Have always had fun and great food, and non stop vino - all Jacob's Creek red, white, rose and bubbly the times I've been.
Thanks for the input ladies!!
Live at Trade Centre but pretty much anywhere goes as we don't begrudge a taxi ride. Drink is most firmly required (tis my 40th!).
Al Murooj sounds good and can always drop into Double Decker for a wasted dance at the end of lunch proceedings ....... ;)
LOVE Italian so maybe Certo's or Prego ......
Oh I SO can't decide!!!! I have to get invites out today else DH & I are likely to be brunching alone!! :-)

Fairmont has 1/2 price at the moment but think it's only for dinner but a buffet including alcohol.. It really is great been a few times. otherwise try Rotana near airport or the Millinium also great price.
Depends where u live and r u drinking?
Rotana Al Murooj is great, 199 includes alcohol! my favorite...
I second this brunch too, do love it there, sitting out on the patio, very good in supplying the beverages, food is very good, brilliant value.
Being a complete glutton, I've had a quick squizz at their website, but can't find a mention of brunch there. Which restaurant would it be i?

Pregos at the Media Rotana is quite good if you like Italian. Can't remember the price exactly but pretty sure it was under 300dhs. Certo Radisson Blu Media city, again Italian(hmm bit of a pattern forming here) but it's sort of like a taster menu where the servers come to the tables with all the dishes, so no queuing and the wine was very nice. I think we paid 200dhs there last year. Most recent brunch we've been to was New Years day at the Horizon Lounge in the Habtoor Grand. It's outdoor overlooking the sea. Nice music playing in the background, good drinks selection but the food's just ok, not the best I've had I must say but, also not the worst. We were a group and it suited us really well so I probably would go back, 250dhs pp.
Spice island at the renaissance hotel is always a great deal and fun with a crowd.
The brunch in the address at the Marina is lovely around 350 with drinks o a bit less than the west in
I like the cellar as you are not up and down to get your food.
On EW recommendation, we tried The Cellar at the Aviation Club a couple of weeks ago. It is brunch a la carte, good service, don't think there's bubbly on offer, but wine fine. V good value, setting not brilliant as went on Saturday outside and there was building going on right next door, but we'll go again.

I'd like to do Bubblicious but as we're inviting a few we need to keep it affordable for the masses ..... am about to flick through Time Out but as always recommendations are best!!
Opinions oh wise fellow Ew'ers?
