Hi, I'm considering whether to wait and buy a bed and mattress in Dubai or buy one here in Australia and bring it with us. I can't find any websites that give an idea of what is available in Dubai and what prices beds and mattresses are. Can anyone advice where I could search online to get a sense of what types/styles of beds and mattresses are available and what I am likely to have to spend? I'm looking for contemporary style 6ft bed and very good mattress. I can get a faux leather 6 ft bed and superb mattress here in Australia for $3,000. Many thanks.

Try Ikea or Home Centre. You might get what you are looking for.

My King Koil is a 200 x 200, very luxurious pillow top, bought here in a Dubai 13 years ago. I cannot go anywhere in the world without longing to get back to my bed.

I bought my mattress from Marina which is amazing and the frame from Ikea which fitted it perfectly. I can use international sized sheets for the mattress.

I bought a solid wood bedroom with metal(without wardrobe), super king size bed, with mattress (was given forfree original price AED 3000 in the market), 2 night stands, two chests of drawers (one with huge mirror) for AED 13000 from Atrium on 50 % Sale, & this shop is pricey. There are many options here & prices vary. During the shopping festival all furniture shops go on Sale.

I suggest you wait and buy here - both bed and shipping costs will be much higher in Aust. I have a great Italian solid latex rubber mattress with a good box base which I bought here 9 years ago and matress still feels like new - no sagging or dents! IKEA beds have their own special dimensions and you can only use ikea linen with them. Best to get beds which are international sizes, I think. edited by mrsb. on 17/12/2013
