Oh, SK you are so great!! If they do have some, could you let me know? I'll arrange to send you some cash and ask you to buy an armful :)

Crashingwaves you are fortunate to have found a treatment that works well for you, and also to have it available for you to purchase. Unfortunately betnovate does not work for me during a flare-up. It's the salicylic acid combination that does the trick.
I've had scalp psoriasis for many years and unfortunately, when it gets really bad, diprosalic is the only treatment that works. All the other options are ok to keep it under control AFTER treating it, but when it flares up badly diprosalic is the only treatment that can get it under control.
I've been informed that it is not available due to supplier issues and not because it has been discontinued. In fact I bought some about 6 months ago, not in Dubai but in another emirate.
So, if anyone does know where to get it I'd appreciate hearing from you - you'd be a psoriasis sufferer and understand how frustrating it can be having no meds to treat it.
Yes, I have only had mild small patches, but I do understand how nothing else will do for you. Perhaps we can all keep our eyes open for this lotion in any of the obscure pharmacies in the Emirates.
She has a script but there is no stock in the Emirates, it seems. Which is why I'm trying to find out if she can get it from somewhere else.
why would a doctor prescribe something he knows she can't get ? in the past when I've needed a medication that's in short supply my doctor has found an alternative...
Pikachu,
There is no alternative available.

Hmmm, thanks ladies. This is not actually for me, but for a friend, who tells me in the UK you have to obtain a prescription for it. Do you mind me asking which country you are getting it from?
There must be a reason why it is not available over the counter. Adrenal issues? Cushings syndrome? I believe that there are side effects, so you should tell your friend to get a script.
There is no stock in the UAE, even if you have a prescription from your local doctor. As every medication for psoriasis it has side effects. This is known to patients, most live with it their whole life so no surprises here. That would not be the reason they dont have any stock here in the UAE. It has something to do with the supplier, but most pharmacists are optimistic that one day they will receive their orders.
I usually have my doctor back home (Belgium) prescribe it and my mom passes the bottles on to any of my friends who happen to fly to Dubai.

It has been out of stock for the last 2 years in all Dubai pharmacies. I know because I think I have tried them all. I now always bring my "stash" from home or have visitors bring additional bottles because I doubt they will ever stock it again. I am out right now, so I know how annoying it is not to be able to just buy it at the pharmacy. Just let someone bring 10 bottles from your home country if possible, that is the only way you will get them.
I think it's low stock at the moment, I saw my dr last week and he said they only had the ointment. But previously I had got it from my local pharmacy and also in that one in Dubai Mall lower floor (I forgot the name of the chain) Just call around and ask if they have it. My pharmacy said they expect more in a few weeks.
Pain I know because the ointment is such a hassle, especially if you work in corporate environment. AT least the lotion isn't greasy :)
The one I had was in those white pointy bottles with a dark red and white label. If my spare bottle hadn't expired I'd give it to you but it's out by 3 weeks :(
