Does anyone have any contacts with a charity or organisation that would look at having a 14 year old girl helping them out as part of her bronze award? K9 is out as they have to be 16 or have parental supervision for dog walking which is not feasible having 4 dogs of our own to walk!! Any help/leads would be greatly appreciated

Try Scouting...I remember when my DS was in Cubs, there were 2 teens doing their awards who were helpers in the pack...I think if you look at after school activities on this site there is a link to the scouts. :)

K 9 want help with sales - they are very professional with the handling of the IA award ( D of E ) - won't sign off anything that hasn't been done! My daughter went to the vets at the polo club - 2 hours a week after school until she had done her hours.

Please can you send an email - they will then say where you can drop them or they can collect from. Will do tonight, with a list of the books. Thanks :-)

Izzy, I have books to give (mainly french and children). Would they want them ? Do you think I can send a message to the address you've put to ask them ? They will definitely want the children's ones, and probably the french too. Please can you send an email - they will then say where you can drop them or they can collect from.

Thanks for the replies I guess she will just have to be proactive and go and source somewhere as far as I am aware it has to be minimum of 12 1hr sessions for this part and as she's not sporty can't even help out with any sporting things. Pity trawling through facebook for hours on end doesn't count :)

the Old Library in MoE takes volunteer students - but there is generally a bit of a waiting list. You also I think need to be a member but not 100% sure on that one (but am presuming so as you have to be a member to volunteer as a 'normal' person!)
