Hi ladies,

My friend is coming into town. She wants to take her 5 year old for a horse riding lesson. Any idea how much a lesson costs and which is the best stable? She will be staying in the AL Barsha area so the nearest stable to that?

I heard there is one in Jebel Ali somewhere?

There are stables at Jebel Ali village which do beginner lessons from age 5 upwards. I do think that there is a waiting list there also though as that is the most popular class! It is very cheap and cheerful compared to other riding schools in Dubai but the staff are lovely and the riders seem happy. We have our horses stabled there and whilst we love the Polo Club and are green with envy every time we go there according to 'people in the know' the level of instruction at JA is far superior... but my children are not at beginer level so I cannot comment on beginner lessons! There is also Bab Al Shams which is a lovely stables but quite far out..and many others if you do a search on EW. HTH That's interestign thanks. I didn't know you cold ride at Bab al Shams, do they also offer lessons for 5 year olds? Any ideas on price. TIA

Sareek just wondering what is the minimum age for lessons? Is it 5 years? Also did you have to be on a waiting list for lessons and whats the cost at the polo club. Thanks :) edited by JShepherd on 13/02/2012

Well, not sure if I am a good advisor for beginners, as I am concentrating more on advanced/professionals, but I have seen by chance an absolutely lovely lesson this week in the Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club with some little one's - had absolutely no remarks on how the trainer handled kids & horses. Am tempted to say it was quite an example how to do it. Besides the Club it beautiful, especially for visitors. Food is also pretty good. Check out the website: http://www.poloclubdubai.com/ Depends a little bit on your pocket though, but as you've been asking for the best in the area, I guess that is the best as far as I know.
