Hi - if your visa is Abu Dhabi but live and work in Dubai can you still go to the government hospital in Dubai and buy the health insurance card for any medical treatments in Dubai - or does the Abu Dhabi visa mean you are not eligible? Thanks!
Yes you can if you provide a lease contract in Dubai, even if you don't live in Dubai or have a dubai visa you can still use the government hospitals ER.
Just a thought, if you have lost your job and have no residence visa or labour card, maybe consider taking out travel insurance - to protect you - to be safe.

Go to a government hospital and buy a health insurance card for dhs350. Take one passport photo and emirates ID along.
If you want to see a doctor make an appointment for the doctor. Consultation costs dhs150 per appointment.
Bring cash for health insurance card as they dont take credit cards for it.
Emergency room is free at government hospitals but that is of course for real emergencies and people arriving by ambulance.
You can use government hospitals but it is not free unless it is ER for a real emergency case, a nurse will see you free of charge at the ER and she will decide whether it is an emergency case or not. I went to Latifa with a missed mc to the emergency but I paid 250 as I was not bleeding and in my case it wasn't urgent, so they gave me another appointment for the next day and I also paid 250 for the consultation then 300 for blood tests and 2800 for the D&C
The Iranian hospital is a bit cheaper than government hospitals for outpatient treatments and ER if the case is not that urgent
Even if you don't have a health card in government or even a visa they will admit you to the ER but unless it is a real emergency you will have to pay. In government you can't see a specialist directly, you will have to see a GP 1st

You can use the government hospitals and clinics but you have to pay for it (apart from some emergencies as CP says). If you don't have a health card they will issue you with one. It may be cheaper to use the Iranian Hospital than a government hospital, if you do a search there are threads about it.
Mona, you can get a government health card from your local clinic. They will ask to see your TC and your visa though, which you may not have still?
Then, you can use government clinics to see GPs or specialists. A GP appointment used to be AED 150, it may have increased since then.
For emergencies, if you have a health card, it may be free. I think it depends on what it is. I had to use the ER of Latifa Hospital recently with a health card and it was completely free. :) (ETA for a child case not adult)

Ladies,
I have recently lost my job and no longer have health insurance. Of course I can buy a health insurance package but out of interest does anyone know if we have temporary access to the state hospital services here eg Rashid Hospital?
TIA
