Hi,
We've just moved to Dubai, so pardon all the questions that may have already been discussed. :)
Has anyone ever been to Jumeirah Beach Park or Mamzar Beach on ladies days?
Was wondering about the following:
1) Is it really ladies only or are there adult male employees walking around? This will help me determine how covered I should be when going (I have both "normal" swimsuits and the burkini styles).
2) Is it relatively nice to swim in? I used to swim even while pregnant with my son, and would love to get back into it.

Thank you!

Thank you for the info, it does seem quite cold/windy these days actually! But will definitely check it out since I prefer the beach to pools...have some relatives coming to visit who like to swim in a few weeks, so may even try then if the weather gets warmer inshaa Allah... And thanks for the western perspective, ItalyMom (I'm from NY, btw, and unfortunately, we have nothing like female beaches there. I have been to Italy, however, wonder if there are female beaches there?). :) edited by treehuggingmuslim on 10/02/2014

Besides the beach at Jumeira Beach Park, there's a nice kids playground on the left side of the park. If u forget to bring a picnic, there are 2 burger cafés, one closer to the beach-front. I plan to swim there after April when the sea is warmer. I went there last week for an afternoon play date and the wind really picked up around 4.30pm. Very windy for the past two weeks in afternoon.

Yes, it is soooo nice and relaxing. Even from a western point of view, I feel so free.

Hi there, welcome to Dubai! I used to go to Jumeirah Beach Park quite a lot. It is only ladies - lifeguards included. The only male you might come across is at the gate when paying to get in but that's well away and far from the beach area. The only things I have felt uncomfortable with are sometimes there are boats or jetskis that pass the beach and yes they are a bit away but if you were standing on the beach by the water I'm sure they can see your outline, etc. HTH

It is really ladies only. There are no men there. You can walk around in a string bikini if you want. Some women do! Yes, it is really nice to swim in if you like salt water. But in my opinion, the water is too cold right now.
