I used to go to SI ( for 3 years) and was very happy with them however it was costing me too much and I started using a British lady from Roots in Barsha who also comes to my house I have never been to TM sorry

noticed a new salon next to Salon Ink in jumeirah called Hair Highness... perhaps they specialise in hair? not sure but the salon looks awesome from the outside... no idea what their rates are but then again most outlets in malls tend to be more pricey simply coz of the crazy rents they are charged i guess

Hello, I have been struggling to find a quality haircut for sometime. I had my haircut a few days ago at Ted Morgans by Sarah and could not be happier. We did a new style and her advice and idea was the same as my what my friends had been suggesting. Totally recommend her, she is at the motor city branch. Feels good to finally get it right! edited by canuckgal1 on 30/09/2013

Salon Ink did not 'do' it for me. They took so long, doing other people in between. For example after my hair wash she was doing a quick root touch up with a other client so I had to sit there for 30 mins waiting for my cut. Then there were other things going on......it took about 5 hours total and I was tired and ****** and my hair looked mediocre. Then I paid 1300. Then I did it all again a year later with a new girl. I shall not go for a 3rd round!

I go to Kelly at Salon Ink - hands down the best cut and colour i have had in Dubai - and that is never too pricey... . I have also had some awful cuts here; and they were always too expensive.

Salon Ink is too pricy and it is not worth it!!! Been there few times, paid average AED 1500 every time for something I could do anywhere else for AED 500. They are really not better than other salons like Hair corridor, etc. Just about the money.

I love the girls at Salon Ink and have only ever had good experiences with them. Yes, they can be a bit on the pricey side, but having had so many hair disasters in Dubai, I'm prepared to pay a bit extra to have someone do a good job on my hair. Kelly and Delma are my go to girls there.

Yes I agree after being a loyal customer of Ted Morgan's for many years, I decided to call it quits as apparently the stylist complained to her boss about me, that I cancel lots of appointments and they wanted me to pay a deposit in case I cancel an appointment!! I was furious, even clinics do not go this far!! I do agree that Elaine is super sweet though, but unfortunately, I feel so angry for being treated like that after all these years, and the thousands I spent in that salon, so I decided that I am never going back!

I have not tried Ted Morgan, but been a few times to salon ink. It is overrated and overpriced. They are also arrogant, knowing that if I do not like their way, they get other customers instead of me easily. I believe EW contributed greatly to their popularity, at one point this whole board was in awe about them, actually that's why I tried them too. They charged me an average 1500 aed for short hair cut, highlights, wash and dry. (Normally I pay 450 -600 in town for the same) I guess after you fork out that money regularly you feel you must love it. Well, I did not. It was as average as any Lebanese hairdresser's in town. Some of the tasks are done by Philippina trainee girls, no better than in any salon. I do not think that they registered how much they could thank to EW for their popularity. Ted Morgan may be good, but watch out, the power of EW may destroy it, as it did with salon ink, deepak tailor, various men with van, various handymen and gardeners. Too much inquiries and they drop level of service.

Been to MC Ted Morgan twice now, and been very happy with the cut and blow dry. Find them very accommodating also with appointments etc.

salon ink seem to get great reviews but i asked them over the phone for a color change and they suggested i would need a color correction and it would cost nearly 700?? thats a bit expensive so thinking of hairworks, what is uzmo like in hairworks does anyone know? and also is the blowdry included in a color? she asked me did i want it blowdried after the color??? am i to leave the hairsalon with wet hair? Sorry, not sure where you are from, but i don't think that's expensive, after all it is your hair! I would've paid that in the UK 5 years ago. The reason she would've asked is it fit it in time schedule wise. i am from ireland and usually a blowdry comes with a color, like when they wash out the color you dont just walk out with hair dripping, a blowdry is always included and not extra if you want it. and yes it is expensive for a correction and then add the price of a color on top of that (400-500 dhs) and then a blowdry (200dhs), yes i would count that expensive, but maybe thats what it is in uk but in ireland you would get a full color, cut and blowdry for about 80euro which is 400dhs

Ted Morgan at MC are good as you earn freebies each visit, I was a bit miffed though when I qualified for a free blow dry, but was told I couldn't use it when I next went for my cut & colour, only if I visit just for the blow dry!

I've been to TM Motor City and not impressed at all. Got two haircuts, the first was mediocre, not bad but nothing that made me feel special. The second was the worst haircut of my life and right now I'm waiting impatiently for my hair to grow so I can go somewhere else to get it fixed. Go to hair corridor at park n shop jumeirah & ask fot Amanda she Scottish & very good stylist she will fix it for you or you can try chole at hairworks salon in Ibn Battuta Mall or hairworks salon in spinneys jumeirah they are good too

I've never been to TM - but always gone to SI - and I love them, won't go anywhere else.

I have been to both, TM on the palm and SI (both many many times), I can safely say SI for me is a much greater experience. I felt TM got very relaxed and my hair never really looked that different, whereas when I leave SI I feel great. In addition SI offer a programme that allows you to get discount on all services, for me it is cheaper than TM. Parking is also more convenient. It is always personal, and comments on here are based on individual experiences. I have friends who have switched to SI too, from other hairdressers and are also very happy.

I have been to both and am now sticking with salon ink. I had several bad experiences at TM motor city, ended up always having to go back to get either the cut or colour tweaked, which really annoys me. So despite it being much more convenient as i live in AR, decided to try SI. I go to Nada, and so far so good. I work so end up going on one of their late nights rather than having to use up my weekend, which i also like. Price wise i would say they are about the same. As someone else mentioned, SI is also a lovely salon with so much like, so the whole experience is also great. Btw, i have a shortish blonde haircut Good luck!

I have been to both salons in the past, and now regularly go to TM Motor City - Sharon does amazing blonde highlights! Salon Ink have a nice salon, with big windows overlooking Jumeirah Beach road, which is a refreshing change from the boxed in salons here. But I didn't have a great experience there. A 'Senior' stylist coloured/cut my hair and I ended up with a real 'stripey' look and a very ordinary cut. She had no personality and gave no guidance. Perhaps if I had a 'Director', it might have turned out better. Salon Ink is also more expensive than TM - you can see their price lists on their websites. Ted Morgan doesn't appear as flash as SI, but it is cheaper, and I have no complaints at all about the service. Sharon is great!

I've tried many, many salons in Dubai, and Ted Morgan Motor City has been consistently good. Niamh does good colour and great cuts. Expensive, but not more so than other "good" hairdressers here.
