You know your a Mum and not a Dad when your children wake up in the middle of the night wanting a drink, covered in vomit, had nightmare, feel like talking, want to know the time, has a fever etc etc and always take the long way round the bed passed Dad to you (Mum) to share all of these events. And you know your a Dad and not a Mum when you can sleep though everyone of them! Love it, love it, love it! LOL! Brilliant!!!!!!!

.....When you find yourself sitting on the toilet, with the toilet door open, singing to your LO and then reach over to the dryer and start folding the washing. Mothers are the best multi-taskers ever ;). ...You wipe the excess food off your todder's face and then absent mindedly eat it youself... ....you have mastered the art of sleeping while performing basic daily chores....if dolphins can sleep half their brain at a time why can't mums! Love this too!

finding a shoe in the fridge, a toothbrush in the wash basket and a yoghurt in the washing machine is as normal as breathing. Spot on! Mum asked where DS's shoes were when we were in the UK in the summer. 'Try out the cat flap' sounded perfectly reasonable to me.

You know you are a Mum, when you are in the middle of a conversation out side home, knowing you left the children sleeping and a baby sitter with them, yet you turn your once you hear a baby cry, thinking it was yours.... then DH remind you children at home.

This is class stuff. You know you're a mum - when you can drive at that absolutely perfect speed guaranteed to get the baby to drop off while not irritating cars behind into hooting -when you can leap out of bed in the morning feeling grateful for four hours' unbroken sleep - when you can go to the loo with the door ajar and frankly not really give a damn who sees as long as the toddler's not screaming to get in - you hear a baby screaming on the plane and you're just relieved it's not yours - you welcome the day your child will watch wall-to-wall **** on the TV if it means a quiet flight for you

...you go to bed at night forgetting that your LO had spit up inside your blouse (how well they aim!), used your shoulder as a teether, and gnawed at your hair. ...you fall asleep on the sofa every time you watch a movie with DH. Thank goodness I don't snore :\: ...you're afraid of taking a heavily sedating medication (Actifed in my case!) and not waking up at the cry of your child! ...you find yourself answering emails, messages, checking Facebook and the like at 3am, and you get a response within an hour from your mummy friends!!! How sad...

You know you're a mum when ... your baby starts to vomit and all you can think to do is "catch" it in your hands... (don't know why I dont just let it fall on the floor instead!) Funny - I now tend to use my entire body as a bucket with my kids hugged in tight - a quick shower beats cleaning the carpets and sheets... sad no?

When you realise, you've just asked your husband if he wants some numnum.... instead of asking if he'd like some dinner :-) Struth!!, that prompted another memory of getting up and following DH to the loo when he announced he was going!!! He turned round and said " I CAN manage myself darling" :D

When you realise, you've just asked your husband if he wants some numnum.... instead of asking if he'd like some dinner :-) numnum is the traditional word now, we stopped using any other term since 3 years!! (I can barely remember what we used to call it before LOL)

...When you need more than an hour before leaving the house, putting thing into your bag, checking again, making sure that all what you do need and MAY need is there (even if you never had to use it before, but what if!!). and after spending all that time checking and preparing, you go out and come back for that one last thing!!!

Loving this thread :) you look in your handbag for lip gloss and find crayons, mini pack of raisins or a McDonalds free toy and you are not embarrassed. Or when my DS says to me "mummy,u ok?" and i instantly feel better.

you push the supermarket trolley backwards and forwards like it's a pram with a sleeping baby while you stare absent-mindedly at the breakfast cereals you look at the vomit stain on your shoulder, contemplate getting changed, think "hmph , its a badge of honour", and walk out the door. edited by Embo on 02/11/2011

- when going to the loo alone and uninterrupted feels like a treat - you know the names of all the machines in Bob the builder and when you drive past construction work you say look there is .... (insert charcter name) - you know the theme tune of you LOs' favourite programmes and find yourself singing to them as you cook dinner. - you know the words and dance move of all sort of children songs and can do them even half asleep. - you hum any of aformentionned songs in the shower ;)

When you go round a roundabout in the car and go "weeeeeeeeeeeee" and then realize the kids aren't in the car ! LOL! Long time since my kids were little but my mummy brain moment was going to Edinburgh on the train by myself and suddenly pointing out cows in a field and saying loudly " look, moo cows!!!) I remember when I first had the twins and was so spaced out. I remember going to the supermarket across the road on my own and standing at the checkout - swaying back and forth as I was so used to doing this with them in my arms. Must have looked so nutty!

Well I know I am Mum, cause I fit in almost every single thread posted below. However I feel I am mum, cause now I worry whenever I get on a plane, whenever something is just not right... I really feel I don't want anything bad to happen to me, not for me but for my child! I am crying when I see children starving, suffering, dying, just because.... I feel I want to say to my daughther, as my mum did, " When you will become a mother you will understand" and she is only 2 and a half!!!!:\:
