We use the Carrefour brand dishwasher tablets. Can't guarantee they will always have them in stock so we buy 3 boxes at a time. They work just as well as those that are twice the cost. Finish boxes of tablets are the same size but there are almost half the amount of tablets inside.

thanks everyone!! the man just came to install it and he said to put dishwashing salt in some slot at the bottom of the dishwasher and it'll last 2 months and to put the rinse aid in and that'll last 2 months as well. and then to put the tablet in the little drawer and if it's powder or liquid then to "Just throw it in there" as opposed to putting it in the drawer. is that true?? back home, whether it was tablets, liquid, or powder, we'd put it in the drawer.

I always used Finish, but now I use Waitrose for much less. Totally happy with it and I put everything in the dishwasher, from glasses to roasting pans. No problems. Just make sure that you clean out your dishwasher weekly, just take the bits apart and give it a rinse in the sink.

Fairy as like the mix of powder and liquid -- sometimes the other brands stick in the little drawer where the Fairy works every time :-)

We also use Finish tablets same as we did back home and they work fine. We try and only buy them on special offer when they have them to cut the cost down a bit.

I use the Waitrose brand one from Spinneys. It is about half the price of the Finish one and works well. It is only a 5 in 1 whereas the Finish one is 7 in 1. I don't put glasses in my dishwasher so I don't need the glass shine additive that is in Finish. I do use salt as I find I get a better result whichever tablet I use. I did find the Fairy tablets once and they were great.

I like the fairy ones which have a combo of powder and liquid. They don't always have them, but bought some in Carrefour MOE the other day.
