Hi Louise and Burnsie Thanks for your advice ladies really appreciated. I have my MRI scan on Sat so hopefully will get some answers and get back to losing all this weight so determined! I did the JM in the pass and assume the "Jumping Jacks" might have done the injury to my ankle... I have been under the weather for 2 weeks and now with the weather warming up I hope to do a bit of swimming. So again ladies... Thanks x

I know this is going to sound simple, but just by doing boxing you will blast your heart rate up. Literally just sit, and punch it out. Jillian Michaels recommends this for any lower body injury.

Hope its all ok. Im a physio and the post about the swimming was spot on. If you put a float between you knees and just use your upper body to swim its a really good work out and you might find the pressure from the water helps to make you're ankle feel better. I would be reluctant to stop all exercises when it sounds like you are doing so well. You don't want to loose all that fitness. It can have a massive effect to your self esteem as well and its amazing how feeling good really does have a positive effect on your recovery. Doc will be happy as you doing a non-weight baring exercise. (good for the heart and lungs too!) hope the MRI goes well.

How about swimming using a pool buoy to make sure you're not using your ankles/legs or even "running" in deep water using a waist flotation device to keep you upright and a strap on your ankle?

give a rest to your ankle hun! what if the problem increases by doing any form of cardio?? if you are a member of gym try weight training.it will develop muscles and is better then nothing. i use to do on alternate days to help ease off the muscles pain by cardio.there are lots of weight training exercises which you can do sitting.

Morming all Tried the whole pilates and yoga it just not for me I dont have the patience..I prefer cardio at least I know am burning calories. I was doing Aerobics zumba and 30 day shred few months back.. I have no idea how i did it, not sure if it was the dreaded jumping jacks from that 30 day shred...they are horrible! Seen the dotor, gave me inflammtary tablets, gel and advised I get ankle support., done all of that and still im in pain cant stand on my feet for too long it swells up ..went back to doctor again last week took xray - no broken bones ...and now doctor advised I see a bone doctor..which is scheduled next Tuesday... Am so fustrated Iost a couple of kilos just before xmas; kept the weight off duiring xmas (which I was quite surprised about) and now 2 kilos is back on only because I havent done no cardio for couple of months (proper excercise that will help me lose the weight) .. been walking only to the malls and around where I live) and doing windsor pilates which I feel I need to combine with cardio... Ladies, your help and advise is appreciated if you can share some info or anyone who has had a similar experience ..am so detrermined to lose 2 stones by november this yr ...now I have this injury...the timing couldnt come at a better time...sods law!
