Help! I split a LARGE glass of red "grape juice" on our white suede sofa (it was asking for trouble) 2 weeks ago, its been to the dry cleaners twice (Champion who I dont rate TBH plus they're REALLY expensive!) and keeps coming back with a "sorry" tag to say they cannot remove the stain. Do iI take it to another dry cleaners or is there another option I can try myself? Considering pouring white grape juice on it or is it a little late for that? Help!

As others have said the dry cleaners have now probably set the stain. A good faux suede fabric like one from Warwick can be cleaned most times just with a white flannel rinsed in warm water and dishwashing detergent. Squeeze the flannel so it is damp and rub the stain away. A stubborn stain may take 2 times. You can then be left with a water mark which can be removed the 3rd time by wiping gently over the whole cushion with a very damp cloth. For more stubborn stains Warwick suggest spraying the stain with hairspray (I know sounds crazy) let it dry and then use the flannel above. The one time I have had a stain that didn't remove using these methods I had a chap come to the house and professionally clean the sofa. My white suede sofas were 10 years old and had no stains - even with a child, cat and dog - oh and a very messy husband lol.

thanks TDB, the stain is now only very small and subtle (maybe I should have mentioned that in the OP) as we did act very quickly absorbing the excess and using a suede cleaner, its just that last mark I want to remove, will try the BoS tonight, failing that I'm considering bleach now, the sofa is only around 6 months old, will be very annoyed with myself if we need to reupholster!! You could try using Napisan Plus (laundry isle, Spinneys) it gets red wine out if everything else white I've spilt it on.

I've been told that if you spill red wine on your sofa, pour some white wine on it and it immediately gets rid of it. I'm not sure if this works on an older stain.

I know when it comes to my DD's clothes if they get a stubborn stain (not grape, she's only 3 ha ha), hanging them out to dry in direct sunlight magically takes the stain out that the washing powder couldn't. Might be worth having it out in sunlight for a few hours to see. Also, don't do the white on top, its an urban myth! I've tried this before and all it did was dilute and spread the stain edited by robertj77 on 10/02/2013
