Just came back from the Tips and Toes Salon at The Greens and I am livid with my whole experience, will never go back now..... Sorry but need to vent! Am I being unreasonable? I work in customer service and no matter whats going on cannot be RUDE to people. Am so over the salons here and the staff attitude.

Heres is my feedback to the company......

To The Manager,

Today I visited your Tips and Toes Greens branch without an appointment in the hope of getting a quick File and Colour Change, and to my surprise the staff could fit me in, always a bonus in a popular, busy salon. Unfortunately thats about where my happy experience ended and it's such a shame as Tips and Toes is definitely a salon I would have previously had no problem recommending to friends and family etc.

After confirming my appointment, I told the receptionist that I had left my handbag in the car and needed to quickly retrieve it and I would return immediately. She questioned how long this would take me to retrieve my purse (while looking at her watch) which left me feeling quite uneasy and annoyed, however I told her 30 seconds and literally ran to my car and back in order not to keep your staff waiting.

Throughout my Colour Change on both hands and feet I couldn't help feeling like I was inconveniencing the technicians. I have found this to be commonplace throughout many Dubai salons where the staff just seem miserable. I know they work long hours and are most probably fatigued, but having had experience in a customer focused environment, it is really paramount for them to be able to disguise whatever may be going on in their personal lives in order to ensure the customers expectations are met. To give reference to what I mean, I asked them if they were applying the same colour to both hands and feet to which they did not even acknowledge me speaking them and after a short while eventually answered my question without even looking up at me once. The only words I got were them demanding the word "relax" as I tried to juggle having both hands and feet done at once, which is highly uncomfortable by the way.

Although I was angered by the experience, I have experienced technicians being like this so often in numerous salons that I probably just accept it now as the norm.

After my nails were complete I just sat in the chair and admired them, and thats when I realised that my toes looked terrible. The hands were done perfectly, but the big toes were filed lopsided and I still had polish remaining on the surrounding skin. I honestly considered just letting them dry and then going to another salon to have them redone, when I decided that I would speak to your staff and see if it could be rectified first. I believe in giving a second chance to fix a problem. I explained to a staff member (not the two girls who painted my nails) that I wasn't really happy and showed them why, they didn't make any effort to apologise or anything but just called over the girl who painted them who glanced at her work as if I was just being pedantic.

In the end she sat down to fix them, but I requested the girl who did my nails do them to ensure I was satisfied with the end result, to which I was told by your staff that this could not be done as another client was coming in. I find this extremely mind boggling and frustrating that you have a paying customer in your chair who's unhappy with the service provided to her yet there is no concern for retaining her loyalty. The loyalty went to the client after me who could very well not even turn up for her appointment.

Infuriated now I sat in the chair as my nails and disastrous feet dried and told the staff not to worry I would do as I had originally planned which was go to my preferred salon and have them redone.

What I did find interesting is that I proceeded to sit in the chair for a further 15 minutes yet the supposed customer was nowhere to be seen, and therefore my nails could have been repainted without disruption to future appointments. What could be seen however was about 4 or 5 staff standing around massaging each other to the left of the reception desk, waiting for something to do. The sad thing about this is your business could be dramatically more profitable had they been offering the services they were to each other to paying clientele.

In conclusion, the staff member who painted my nails originally and who I had requested to fix my toes eventually came up to me and said "yes maam" for which I explained my situation, as obviously the manager had not communicated to her why I was unhappy and had requested her services. She did end up improving them but unfortunately she couldn't completely rectify the lopsidedness caused by the previous technician.

I am so disappointed by my whole experience that I left the salon enraged. I personally wont go back to the that branch if not Tips and Toes again, at least not until some customer focus is instilled within the company or staff at that particular branch.

A salon is supposed to be a relaxing, tranquil place and that is something Tips and Toes is currently lacking.

Hope this feedback helps you implement better customer service practices and you don't have to read emails like this in the future.

I would appreciate a response in regard to this matter, I am contactable on the email provided.

I go to The Greens branch- well I do when I can get an appointment- they always say fully booked- do you reckon they are saying fully booked so they don't have to do too much work??? It is quite a busy place in there and don't think it is big enough but when have been I have always had a ok-ish nice time. There are too many staff in there lolling about though. I only go beacuse it's handy maybe should venture a bit further afield- I second Essentials as being a lovely place to go too- not been for a while maybe it's time to go back :)

I agree completely, the service at the T&T Branch is dreadful. The last time i went was a treat booked for me by my mum a few weeks after the birth of my son. Needless to say i was excited about the 50mins of baby free 'me time' i was about to have. However as soon as she sat down, the lady doing my pedicure reprimanded me very loudly about the fact my feet were a bit dry and said i should be moisturising more often. I explained that i hadn't exactly been able to reach them of late, which she shrugged at and proceeded to tut and huff her way through my long awaited but now throughly miserable pedicure. She the had the gaul to start complaining to one her colleagues and huffing and puffing and pointing. Needless to say i was completely humiliated, especially as my feet really weren't that bad, just a little tired and in need of some tlc. Shocking service. I'll never go back, to that or any other T&T branch.

Wow ladies, interesting to see that so many people have had a bad experience at TandT Greens Branch. I wonder why this is. I havent had any luck even sending my below feedback letter as it keeps bouncing back. I am attempting to source an email address for the owner/management as I want them to realise that its not really acceptable. The most annoying thing in Dubai is there is no way you get out of paying, you will still cop the bill for terrible service, despit expressing dissatisfaction . No service recovery and no apology! Once again I recommend NAILS in Dubai Marina (details below) - the salon is beautiful and the in-the-chair massage is good as they use colour therapy to select your massage oil. Basically the most unappealing colour to you is the one you should choose as its what your body is lacking. Well worth a go!

It's the same with Nail Station on Jumeirah Beach Road..they were fabulous, up till the past 6-8 months were their prices started going up and their quality and service was going down. They have their own nail polish brand - great colors but BADDD quality. My nail polish wouldnt last more than 2 days... I just stopped going there.

I take my own nail varnish and ask them to use it because I like the quality and colour, it also means that I can touch up any chips at home if required.

I agree with the Tito comment. I think its a much cheaper nail polish than Essie & Orly. And with T&T raising their prices, who gave them the right to comprimise on quality of materials used???

The last two times I've been to T&T Meadows, I've left with painful infections in my toes. And what is with their new color line Tito? Is it their own? For me, the paint chips so quickly and the colors are so blah. I'm desperately looking for a new place, but I can usually only get out for an hour or so, so it has to be close.

I am a massive fan of T&T JBR but also had an awful experience of the Greens 'customer service' once. Made me so angry. Basically I always go to the JBR branch as I've always had good experiences but early December last year I had an important evening ball to attend which started quite early. So with the Greens branch being closer to my work I booked an appointment there. My appointment was at 6.15pm and I arrived at precisely 6.17pm due to waiting for car-parking space outside. The receptionist told me they could no longer do my feet and could do my hands only as there was now no time to get them both done as the next appointment to mine was at 7.15pm?! So I questioned how long a pedicure takes to which she replied "50 mins" so I explained that we still had a good 58 mins to go so would really appreciate them seeing to me as I had an important event and tried to be as polite as possible. She absolutely refused and scolded me infront of everyone for not being on time (again, I was 2 mins late). I spent about 10 mins pleading with her as I really needed them doing and could not go to my event with nice nails and yuck toes until eventually the time got to 6.27pm. She then span her screen monitor round to show me the time was NOW too late to accommodate a 50 min pedicure. She then began serving other customers who had watched the whole thing and I got blanked, she wouldn't see to me after that point! I literally walked out very close to tears as I knew I had no time to get them done anywhere else and attended my ball feeling very un-groomed and very angry about the situation!!! Will NEVER go to the Greens branch again (although I still go to JBR....for now)

I will do SLEEPYHEAD, I think that may just be the most frustrating of all when the management lacks the basic skills required to run the business. I am praying whoever gets back to me is eager to improve based on feedback. My friend recently had a terrible experience at Sasha's Nail Salon, but hers was management related, Apparently the Owner came in and scolded all the staff for doing something that improved the finish of Gel/Acrylic nails in order to keep customers happy. She made a right scene of the salon and had onlookers in shock. Like myself my friend vowed never to go back

A place I can recommend (going there 2 yrs now) is Essential which is on Al Wasl Road almost across the street from Park n Shop. This is in Al Safa 1. The gals who do my nails (and I had the Gelish as well) are perfectionists, very friendly and make you feel like you're the only one there. I usually see Lettie and Lenny. Excellent for hair cut and color as well -- Bambi is an excellent shampoo gal, literally massages your head while she shampoos.

I have posted several times about my horrendous experiences with T&T. Sorry to hear about your unfortunate situation today Lozzie1707, I can relate to your dissatisfaction and frustration and sadly this does not surprise me one bit! I hope you get a reply from Management, if you do please share the feedback, I'd be interested to know whether the boss lady/man really care about their reputation. SH

And if it was aimed at me: I dont intend to, but my dissatisfaction only occurred about 2 hours ago so no more cash will go to their pockets from here on in!!!!

I've posted on here before that I used that branch once ( not for nails but for eyelashes) and it was horrible - all the girls who work there lolling about near the desk on mobile phones etc. It's dark and dingy and there is an air of disorganisation and lack of effective management. ( at least at that time there was)

why would you carry on giving your hard earned cash to a company that you are not happy with? If that question was aimed at me, the answer is I'm happy with the springs branch, and its convenient :)

You are SO CORRECT, the springs branch is the best! Its such shame as I love the reflexology and massage but I cant handle the thought of them thinking I am an inconvenience to their day!

Funny you say that, I usually go to the springs branch and have never had any problems there, but one day I popped into the meadows branch (near the small spinneys) and had a very similar experience to yours, I walked in for an appointment, asked for Gelish to which they replied they didn't have time for as they were booked up, though my whole appointment I sat there while the staff who were doing my nails were less than attentive, whilst the other 5 girls sat around laughing and joking with NO appointments coming thorough... I would only go to the springs branch now....

On a brighter note, I have found a salon that I do think is fantastic and I am kicking myself now that I didn't go there to begin with. I recommend everyone try it as its not only stunning inside but has customer satisfaction down pat!
