Does anyone know if you can get it done at the Dubai Mall Skating rink? I called today but they kept forwarding me around with no answer. Going tomorrow and just wanted to know whether to take my skates (which need sharpening) or just rent - I'd prefer to use my own.

They definitely do it at Dubai Mall rink, there's a small charge (can't remember whether it's 20 or 50 dhs), but they are very helpful...

If you can make contact with one of the ice hockey teams you should be able to find someone who can sharpen your skates. The rinks here are not geared for people who want good skate sharpening. My contact (not in UAE) bought his own machine for the ice hockey community.

You would have thought somebody there could do it, but its just finding them. If not the guy in the skate shop at Al Nasr could sort them for you.
