About the Role
This maternity cover role offers an exciting opportunity to join the Finance Team as a Cashier at DESS from June 2025 to April 2026. You’ll be the friendly face of our finance office — handling tuition, trip, and activity payments, issuing receipts, assisting with queries, and keeping meticulous records using our iFinance and iSAMS systems. It’s a varied and rewarding position that combines accuracy, customer service, and a fast-paced environment during one of our busiest times of year.
About You
- Demonstrate strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage financial processes with accuracy and care.
- Possesses good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook, with confidence handling spreadsheets and data entry.
- Previous experience in a cashier, finance, or administrative role is desirable, though not essential; training and support will be provided.
- Ideally, have some familiarity with finance or school systems such as iFinance or iSAMS, though a willingness to learn is just as important.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with a wide range of stakeholders, including parents, students, staff, and external providers.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, busy environment where no two days are the same, while maintaining a positive and proactive attitude.
- Show a genuine willingness to support the smooth day-to-day operations of the Finance Team and wider school community.
- Work collaboratively within a supportive and friendly team that values humour, flexibility, and teamwork.
- Remain calm and approachable during high-volume periods, ensuring excellent customer service at all times.
- Contribute meaningfully to the department during the maternity cover period by being dependable, adaptable, and enthusiastic.
