The 49 aed plan is what they call Social - so facebook and bbm are fully functional. You need the 99aed plan for browser access and 1 email account.

Hi there, I've finally gone over to a blackberry and am on the AED49 per month tariff with Etisalat. That does not cover net access and yet I can get apps like facebook, twitter, goole chat, msn messenger and yahoo chat. What I'm wanting to know is: can I access my gmail email account as an app - does anyone else do this? Or do I have to pay the extra per month and have net access? I really don't understand it! I have the option to email from my google chat and it's loaded up all my contacts but when it came to send a mail there was no 'send' option! TIA - hope this isn't too confusing! I cant access my email ( hotmail) on the 49AED they told me i would need to increase it to the 99AED package. I assume it is the same for gmail
